About Royal Blood
Brighton duo Royal Blood comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/vocalist Mike Kerr formed at the beginning of 2013. They quickly made their presence known, with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar defining characteristics of their ferocious blues-rock sound. The band gained many plaudits early in their career, touring with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters, before going on to win Best British Group at the Brits in 2015 receiving their trophy from their musical hero and admirer Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their catalogue boasts the Mercury Prize nominated self-titled debut album released in 2014 that spawned hits such as "Out of the Black, "Little Monster:, "Come On Over" and "Figure it Out", as well as their second successive UK number one album "How Did We Get So Dark?" released in 2017 which featured "Lights Out" and "I Only Lie When I Love You".

They are getting much attention. This band's 3 years old and already gets millions of views, that's a really big success in this genre. Most bands don't even get 1/10th of the views they get ;)

Actually, he's running a bass guitar through three different amps and a shit tonne of effects pedals. One amp provides the bass tone, whilst the other two simulate a "fake" guitar tone using a POG Harmoniser pedal which effectively shifts the pitch of the bass guitar up a few octaves to give it the guitar sound. I imagine he uses regular bass strings though

Usually when I go to a concert the opening band is typically nothing to rave about but when I saw these guys open up for the Foo Fighters I was blown away. Definitely extremely happy that we have a great band coming up the tubes even in 2015

This is my fave track off of the album. Its heavy as hell but also has really catchy lyrics and a riff that Black Sabbath/muse etc would be proud of. Best band in the uk at present.

En directo es todavía más bestia. 😂😂😂😂 Los vi hace un par de semanas porque han sido con One O Rock los teloneros de Muse en la última gira europea que han hecho, empezaron su set con "Out of the Black", me metieron un buen susto porque esperaba a que fueran a hacer, al menos, una presentación diciendo quiénes eran (como hicieron OOR), pero qué va. Directamente "pum, pupupupum, pupum". 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The way he slides the strings in the beginning makes a similar sound as dubstep in my opinion. Except he makes a better noise than any kid on his computer ever can! :D Now THIS is music!

It really isn't that difficult with Music Production... Some simple effects thrown on top as usual just different Guitar sounds sent to different Amplifiers controlled by pedals... The only issue is it means the band will always rely on the tech to make the music deeper, there isn't as much going on in the song without other instruments so they rely heavily on the production to beef it up enough... Still sounds great though, and simplicity isn't a bad thing, especially when it sounds so powerful
