This is a video tour from April 2023 of our cruise excursion called “Beach Break with Open Bar”. We booked it directly through the Royal Caribbean website a week before our cruise on the Adventure of the Seas.

What did you pay? Did you order any food or drink? Was it good? It says “open bar” - is there a limit? This video left a lot to be desired

I believe we paid $60 to $70 per adult booking directly through the RCL website. That rate included the shuttle to and from the beach. Also, the drinks were included with the rate. You could drink as many as you wanted. The drink selection was limited to 2 draft beers and 8 to 10 cocktails such as margarita, rum punch…etc. The food was not included in the rate. We ordered nachos. I honestly don’t remember what we paid.

Are there different kinds of activities you can do while you are there?

Other than some sub diving excursions that I believe we’re extra $…… I can’t recall any activities offered.

so some in are party didnt get to book this and if they want to meet us there can they get a taxi and come to the same beach area? taxi from port to this area and taxi back to the port??? is that an option? i see the yellow taxi's in the background near the buses. what is that location called? anyone know the name of it? thanks.

Sorry I don’t know. I didn’t notice a place to buy tickets to the resort. Everybody there had wrist bands that the cruise ships at port gave you prior to getting on the buses.

If you take a taxi from the port, they take you to this beach. There are several beach clubs there though. Some of the taxi drivers are scammers or get extra money to bring you to a specific beach club, at least I’ve heard. I’m sure you can just take a taxi and then meet with your group. It’s a free beach. But if you’re going to use the chairs you’re gonna pay up

This did not tell how much the vendors are bothering you. We just got back and we hated the beach break. We had one vendor or another asking if we wanted to buy something every 30 seconds. When we got back to the cruise port, it felt like a gauntlet maze of aggressive vendors getting back to the ship. I felt molested by Royal Caribbean. We paid to have vendors yell at us.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience due to the vendors. There were sales men / vendors walking around with merchandise while we relaxed in our beach chairs, but they didn’t bother us again after saying no thanks a few times. Also, we were the last group to get back to the ship after getting dropped back at the port. Mostly all the port vendors were gone by then. So we didn’t have a negative experience at the port like you did.

We enjoyed it. We probably wouldn’t take our kids with us due to the crowds, but if it was just me and my wife I would book it again mostly due to the price. The water was clear blue and sand was nice. The only negative was the seaweed.
