Cruise news today. Royal Caribbean celebrated the delivery of its newest ship, Utopia of the Seas, in Saint-Nazaire, France. Greece is the next to limit cruise ships and passengers. Those guests who paid up to a half million dollars for a cruise cabin have been delayed again. Cruise line stocks for CCL, RCL, NCLH, and VIK.

More and more ports are limiting visitors and at the other end cruise lines are introducing bigger and bigger ships. Soon we will cruise to nowhere.

I have to imagine the Dry dock wants them out ASAP… it’s kinda amazing them have not been kicked out yet. Those docks are usually booked back to back, months out.

I've been to Santorini twice in the same cruise. The first time, there were 3 other ships with ours (225 passengers). A Virgin ship and 2 other small ones. It was a little crowded. The 2nd time, there were three big ships and us. It was a nightmare. Pile onto that the usual "tourist attitude". I was so glad we got to experience it with not so much crowding. I understand why they're doing it.

Mornin' Doug! I still think the mega ship trend is exacerbating the port crowding issue. I'm guessing, as large port communities limit guests, other communities are going to be slow to sign up for port expansions the will allow multiple mega-ships to flood their areas. It will be interesting to see how - or if - the industry will respond.

We went on the Mardi Gras this year, and... that's just too many people. (Personal opinion) 5,000+ is too much, I think I'll stick to 3½k and under ships from now on.

Good morning, Doug! We have Utopia of the Seas booked for a 4-night cruise September 2025 using "Next Cruise" when we sailed on Allure of the Seas this past May. No doubt we will probably book a second sailing on Utopia of the Seas in order to get to enjoy more of the ship that size!

With mega ships entering the market one after the next, there is bound to be more and more problems as to the number of passengers arriving in different ports. The number of ports in Europe or else to visit is bound to get smaller. What wîll be the long term solution? Have a great Monday😊

The ship won’t ever sail. It’s amazing to think Greece only had small ships calling just 20 years ago. Yea Costa would cruise there but MSC had ex ocean liners and the MV Melody. NCL maybe a handful and the local cruise lines which Louis/Celestial is the last company standing. Celebrity never really cruised there till recently even though they were the first Greek company to built a new ship since the 1950s. Most people don’t know the history of Celebrity, just what Royal Caribbean did to destroy them!

Hey Doug, Tampa here. I probably would NOT get my butt on a World cruise with a ship that old with that many issues. NOPE ! Save my money and look for another ship. Sail safe.

Wow what happened in the Stock market big hits for all cruise lines.. I would love to go to Greece but I'm sure no cruise line leaving US to Greece LOL
