Following on from my recent subterranean adventures and a short break, it is time to get back on the bikes again!
This very tidy and apparently low mileage Indian made Royal Enfield 500 Bullet has some upgrades already, but it will soon be getting some engine top end attention, with some porting work and a high compression piston, to include it in the 'Asbo' count at number 50. This short ride was taken just to see how it performed in its 'as was' state of tune, before receiving 'the treatment'. I also make a mistake while discussing this machine, which I am only too sure many will spot!

i have the same 500 model, it is a stock bike. Torque on this bike is very great, amazing bike despite the bone rattling vibrations

Nice to see again the world from a correct perspective! It is funny that our thoughts were just the same what you reported, it was actually very exciting moment there with the Volvo... But it also appeared like very nice going machine! Thanks for the video!

That bike's rather good already, be interesting to see what your magic does to it. Surprised how high you revved it, but no BANG anyway. Had the iron head Bullet 350 about 32 years ago, never took above 55. So, I got the Classic Reborn now, my 4th Royal Enfield. I think I'm becoming addicted to them.

Had a Royal Enfield 500 silver bullet back in the day never managed to get the timing spot on, it had a vicious kick back when trying to start it.

now thats a better sound lol. Did you pay extra for the brown tape on the bars? see ive upgraded ive got insulation tape on mine lol. sounds like a good strong one too

Hi Paul, I think that may be a replacement speedo, aren't they originally supplied with a KMH speedo? My 2005 was. Regards Edward

Nice-looking bike and a good video. Out of curiosity, how old is this bike (you may have mentioned it in the video but I can't remember)? Is that really a Mk2 Concentric?

Hi Paul I've a 350 Indian bullet . How do I get rid of that nasty rattle? Clatter clatter clatter that it does. I've adjusted the tappets but it's still the same. . . I've heard a few of these English ones now and they don't seem so clattery

Some Indian Bullets can have more sloppy tolerances than others. It might be backlash in the timing gears. Eccentric cam spindles are available, for adjusting the meshing of the teeth, but I don't like them much, as they can work loose and slip, sometimes causing damage.

Not my thing either, really - except for scramblers and trials bikes of course, but each to their own, I guess. In particular, I don't like those brown single seats which look like a tree fungus, and seem to be all the rage at the moment, along with 'pipe wrap'.
