I'm seriously thinking of buying one of those and your video has convinced me to get one. I was particularly impressed with the smooch running engine and glorious sound of the bike and how serene it is to ride the bike and not think about competing with other riders. Let them go while you admire the scenery and appreciate nature. I get where you're coming from.

I have been riding since 1970 but have only ever had one bike at a time. However 14 months ago I also purchased a Halcyon Green Classic 350 now on 2,500 miles. For the first time ever I am not thinking what bike shall I get next, from 175s to 1200s bikes this is by far the best bike I have owned. As you rightly say this bike transports you in relaxed comfort, relaxing the mind at the same time, putting a smile on your face on every ride. I cannot believe the quality of build on such a cheap bike, just totally solid with sensible mud guards. They can go on fast roads if you want but that is to miss what this bike is the master at, country roads right down to lanes with grass down the middle, just chugging away in relaxed bliss, even though it can get a wriggle on if that takes your fancy. Love your channel take care PS mine is like an Omega watch hence her name “Omega” blame TAYM 😊

Having returned from a fortnight in Thassos I was really suffering from holiday blues. Just an hour's ride on the Classic 350 (called "Ernie" after my late father) soon sorted that out. A gentle local bimble - short shifting everywhere (cos Ernie and me love that) and I was sorted. I also explored another of those lanes I've passed by so many times before. 👌 You're right about a bigger bike having excessive power on tap, you always feel that "making progress" is necessary. On the Classic 350 it's entirely possible too of course (choose your fights wisely) but not being the main aim, it somehow removes the responsibility to do so.

Getting out on the Classic 350 and over the moors is the best cure for depression I have found apart from Wigan beating St Helens. You can't rush, you can't race. It's ego free and also cheap - mine has averaged 99.7 mpg since running in.

I am just going through my DAS, should (have done it years ago tbh). The reason why? because I love the retro appeal of the RE Classic 350, for all the reasons you have stated. But then you start to look around and consider other bikes on the market that might be bigger, better(?), faster, etc etc. Having just watched your video, you have made me realise not only what the last piece of my jigsaw is, but why. Thankyou for bringing me back to the realisation that this is the bike and incidentally in the colour I originally set out to own and why. I always think that the RE is not a bike you buy to get somewhere, but you buy to go somewhere. Thankyou for a great video.

Riding the bike is a great way of putting life's stresses to one side. Sorry to hear about your mate Chris and I hope he's better soon. Re the energy company, I had a similar experience here in West Oz, though not to the same degree. They tried to charge me a substantial government credit as a debit. Took the useless tools three months and many calls from me to get it sorted. They then had the nerve to ask me if I'd like to do direct debit for them. As if!

Unfortunately, I've never been to the UK but your words and views of the English countryside were so fitting for this motorcycle. I purchased my 2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn in Chrome Bronze about 7 months ago and am in love with it. It's technically my second motorcycle and though I may be new to motorcycling in general, I feel there is just something special about this motorbike which you captured the essence of in your video. - Cheers from Coastal Southern California. Great stuff mate. Just cleared 100 miles on my Red and Chrome . Pillion and rear foot rests gone that lost 10 kg straight off . Although I've got a chrome solo rack coming. Why did I go from a Kawasaki VN 900custom cruiser to a 350 Enfield classic? Soul and Character by the bucket full. Modern style bikes are fantastic machines but the have zero soul the only thing they live on is performance and even that is controlled by modes all over the place. The Enfield is like a Rolex all they do is look good and tell the time. Most of the bikes nowadays are like Casios. Full of modes and plastic and look bland.

Beautiful bike and "philosophical" review. A perfect bike. Antoine de Saint Exupery said: "Il semble que la perfection soit atteinte non quand il n’y a plus rien à ajouter, mais quand il n’y a plus rien à retrancher." (It seems that perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away). And this is it, with this 350 Classic. And I pardon your French, because I always been amused by poetry amateurs (as I'm one too). Poetry lovers, capable of quoting entire passages from their favorite authors, are also capable of the most amusing French or English (depending on whether you are English or French), swear words. And as a French, I hope you'll pardon my English. My very bad and broken English!

Very well conveyed, Dave. Life, unfortunately, throws us a curved ball the moment we 'pop out', starting with that nurse giving us a slap of welcome to the world. I'm not saying don't challenge a wrong, challenge it with vigor if done to but I've learned that there are many matters we simply have no control over and fighting it, just makes one ill. Instead, I live each day with a certain gratitude, knowing, yes, there are folk out there far better off than me, but, there are also many, many more who are far worse off. I appreciate we are all different and approach issues differently, but this is my outlook and it has served me well.......oh, and thinking of a certain, Mr Idle on his cross asking those around him to, 'Always look on the bright side of life!'😄

I had a similar issue with my energy company. Wondered why i had a direct debit but were asking for a payment & meter readings. When i looked on the app i could see i had two accounts & the direct debit was for a meter that had been taken out. After being sent from pillar to post the account was eventually closed & i thought bingo at last, then two weeks later i receive a letter addressed to the occupier we are your new power company and please give us a reading. Back on the phone again , bills arrived , debt collector letters arrived & then the smart meter wasn't giving readings on my genuine account. This took months of sorting & they knew they were in breach & could have been in bother with the ombudsman as they were well over the investigation time limit. Hopefully it's sorted now .

@@thebingleywheeler yes & I've simplified the story too, they arranged for someone to take a look for a trace test but they didn't turn up, they didn't seem to have a record of a new meter fitted but they could strangely take a reading. I seemed to be on the phone for months being passed around each department & dealing with idiots. It caused me enough stress dealing with it that i could have used for other things & I'm pretty sure a less stronger person than myself could have easily been put over the edge by it all.

You can see the Moors from my brother's house in North Yorkshire but I've not been up there. Great little bike but for me and probably many (and you) a second bike due to the low hp. Power company wise, I'm in a similar situation with Scottish Power. Electricity meter not working. We don't do them now. They don't bother sending anyone out to look at why it's not working either! 3 times this year they've estimated the electric and gas. I'm in the house on my own for 3 days and nights. My wife loox after her 90 year old dad at his. So 2 showers for one person and some odd washing up etc. I'm being estimated for the average use of power of a family in a 3 bed terrace. In July which is now this area comes on line for the new meters that can be fitted. Can you guess what type of meter they are, go on give it a go. Then they should be able to get the correct reading and keep my money in my account.

Seeing you feel the Halcyon Green is the best colour, Im interested in your opinion why green is preferable to say the Halcyon Grey (light blue) ? The green one can say takes one back to "British Racing Green" that often appeared in earlier racing cars. The Blue brings me to the 50's & 60's. Just interested in your views.

I think it's purely what looks good to you and for me the green was the best looking....some Chromes had finishing issues

Halcyon green. Is this a good color for this motorcycle? Halcyon gray is nice, but no longer available. Halcyon black is a bit boring.

hi from up the road at denholme, i'm thinking about getting either a classic or a bullet for taking my missus on the back, i already have a meteor and love it but it's a bit cramped two up, i was down at appy's yesterday but the only classic they had was jam'd in so i could not throw my leg over it and it only had one seat on it do you have to buy the rear seat seperate,? enjoying your vid's over the roads i know well and a few i don't but will get around to if the weather ever picks up, all the best.

Hi Stephen the Classic comes with both seats as standard. I have a spare rear seat in brown if it came to it. Plenty of 2 up room on this bike pal 👍🏻

Have a chat with your local electrician and ask him what it would cost to add a check meter to double-check the power consumption for a month or so to get some numbers to show the big mess your power company is making. There are some quite clever ones around now. Sorry, not sure how you could measure the gas consumption. does your gas meter have a visible dial? Nice ride through the countryside, thanks. 🙂

Forgive the ignorant question, but what sort of open road speeds does the 350 hold? E.g. motorway capable, or needing to stick to back roads. I have a Benelli TRK500 but love the signals 350 and was thinking of commuting on it (Auckland, NZ)

Laughed my cock off at “dropped out of my arse” absolutely brilliant. Only observation is, is it just motorcycling that helps clear the mind rather than a particular bike. I think it’s just the sheer freedom and joy it brings that makes you feel better. Finally about the fuel bills, are you still running the cannabis farm in your loft ? 😂😂😂😂
