Both are good. The differences may only be skin deep. Lets find out

Differences
Handling
TBTS: More oriented towards highway crusisng. Not a nimble handler in cities.
Classic: More nimble and agile than TB but still a little difficult to move around in heavy traffic.
Riding posture
TBTS: Proper cruising posture. Upright with arms almost parallel to the ground. Legs are comfortably placed and although its not an armchair pose, it gives you good comfort levels on long rides.
Classic: Pucca bullet riding posture. A golden mean between sports and cruiser. Ensures manuverability while facilitating comfort on long rides.
Back seat
TBTS: The back seat of the TBTS is very merciful to the occupant. It offers good comfort and the additional backrest is a welcome relief for many. The old TBTS had a proper backrest which felt amazing. The updated one offers only a fraction of the comfort the original offered but still is a good accessory to have.
Classic: Back seat of the classic is an afterthought. It is a sad piece of engineering designed to tortue the occupant into surrender. Simply put, I wouldn't want my wife to sit through even 100km on that piece of garbage.
Long drive
TBTS: Being the highway cruiser, it is meant for long rides. It offers a comfort level far superior to the classic (but strangely only at par with the actual CI engine bullet). I have taken my TBTS from kanyakumari to Darjeeling, Leh, Puri, Goa etc without any issue. This is ofcourse sans all the breakdown issues which are common for all enfields.
Classic: Classic can also be ridden far and wide. I took a two day roadtrip covering almost the entire Telangana state attractions and managed to cover over 850kms without any issue. The pillion however had a different story to tell.
Similarlies
Engine refinement
The engine is almost identical. I don't believe even the tuning is different. Both come in 350 and 500 cc capacities and I firmly believe that the 350 is mor than adequate for all practical purposes.
Chassis
Hard to believe but TBTS and Classic share a very similar chassis. The looks vary because the tank height is different and because the handle bars are upswept in the TBTS. If you put in a regular handlebar and enfield tank on a TB it immediately becomes a Classic!
Mileage
Pretty similar figures. Both give almost identical mileage with 350cc giving around 37-40kmpl on highways and 500cc giving 32-35kmpl on highways depending on riding style.
Maintainance
Both are heavy on the pocket. The maintainance charges accompanying an enfield is very high especially in this class of vehicle. Over the years ownership costs far exceed the initial investment!
There you have it. Thats the exhaustive comparison between two very obsolete pieces of machines. My word of advice is to invest in something that is more reliable and dependable. Enfield quality standards are dropping drastically as they churn out more numbers. Manual production which was their biggest strength in the old days of ten bikes a day production capacity is now their biggest weakness as the employees start compromising on standards to push out more vehicles. Choice is clearly personal and yours to make.
