My youngest son and his partner rode 15,000 miles over four months around Europe last year. Thirty five countries from Gibraltar to Finland and a lot of places in-between, much of it off-road. They did their own servicing and tyre changes en route. Both bikes are still in daily use.Epic. Just bought a low mileage, well-sorted 411 myself, after riding my son's Himmy to the Overland event in Oxfordshire this year. The Himmy is a future classic. Love and peace.

It was a pleasure to watch you thrash the Himalayan through those trails. The video was superb and your thoughts about the machine mirror my own. I'm old now and arthritis and a sore back keep me bumbling along the dirt and gravel mountain roads here in Central Pennsylvania. I can only dream about trails like the ones you were on. I've had my 2022 Himalayan a little over a year now and it is my favorite motorcycle. I downsized to the Himi from a BMW K75 in part because of weight and in part because I wanted to spend more time off the pavement. I hope to be able to put as many miles on mine as you have on yours!

Great video, thanks. My Himalayan now has 25,000 miles on it and runs fine still. Just added Bridgestone AX41 tyres this week, will be taking them off-road as soon as possible. I live about 2 miles from Hitchcocks and about 8 miles from Redditch, the ancestral home of RE.

you took the words right outtof my mouth,, As soon as I saw a pic of the Himalyan in 2017 I new I had to have one,, I just love it,I,v had it over 4 yrs and it just gets better... ONe mod I can recommend is replacing the head stock (ball bearings) with a taper roller bearing,,its just better,, This year I gave my bike a revamp,,(instaed of trading it) fitted a big bore kit ,tec cam ,,and all round YSS suspension,,,if I,m honest, I do,nt use the extra power that much ,but having a little extra power coming out of corner s just does it for me.... I agree this bike is too heavy to comfortably ride off road,, but the lanes I ride ,,its the boss,,and it handles corners really well.... oh well enough said ,,, ( we are the people in the know! all the GS riders are so far from reality its laughable!)

That’s me: I just want to bumble along in town and on back roads on my Himalayan. But it actually does pretty well when you push it a little through the curves. It’s not a “great” bike in terms of fit and finish, but it is a great ride at a great price.

One of the best/most honest reviews. Almost bought one as my first bike last year. Actually test rode all (5) RE models and loved them all. Haha. Couldn’t decide. Tested some old vintage bikes. Didn’t want other people’s headaches and a 40-50 year old bike for my first bike. Test rode a Moto Guzzi and was sold right away. Now that I’ve been riding for a year, I want a 2nd bike… because… it’s just what us car/truck/bike people do. Haha. Gotta get one of these this year! Thanks dude!

Really enjoyed. Kinda perfect customer, for pretty much the perfect bike. If you need something faster to travel in a different manner, you're not doing yourself any favors IMHO. I traded mine (after 10,600 miles in a year) for an INT650 (which I LOVE!) to deal with my crappy city life and really miss it. I'd love to relocate to an area where I, the elements, and a Himalayan are a perfect match. Yes, very manageable for 5'6"ish folk, and will carry anything......a bicycle, inflatable kayak, exquisite lawn art :)

Mine is a hate love relationship with my Himmy. Fun to ride, until the engine cuts out at low rpm's. I have dropped the bike several times from just the engine cutting out at the most inconvenient times, which happens constantly. Its favorite places to cut out are traversing muddy roads and heavy city traffic. My speedometer is literally held together with polymer glue. The internal screws started rattling around at about 1500km. Opened the case and found the cheap plastic board mounts crumbling, so I glued everything back together with a vibration proof polymer. My front directional vibrated apart so it got glued as well. The front and rear seats, are the most uncomfortable that I have ever had on a bike. I have a 32" inseam and presently just use a small 1" thick pad to keep me high enough so my knees do not hit the tank bars. My wife who is small finds her seat painful as well, after only a 20 minute ride. At 9,000km I had to replace the damaged steering bearings. The heavy bike apparently does not like my rough roads here in the South American Andes. But it is cheap to run at 85mpg and it is a fun ride as well as long as you don't have to get there fast. I am thinking of picking up a super Meteor for the highway, I can have two RE bikes for the price of one Jap bike, and polymer glue is cheap...

I own a Honda Africa Twin and a KTM 150 dirtbike. I recently aquired a 2021 Himalayan. There's something odd about the steering. At really low speeds, the steering gets really stiff. At higher speeds you can't even notice but once you stop or slow turn you feel it. It's like the tires are grabbing on to the street. At first I thought air pressure but it was 30 psi. Then I looked closer at the tire wear. They have 5400 miles but there is still very much knobbies on it. One thing to note.....the knobs are not evenly worn. Some stick out more than others. Have you noticed anything like this? Is this tire wear likey the issue? What do you think?

I think there is a build video from Rocky Mountain ATV where a guy about our size and a lot heavier than me made one fit him with just a few mods. @@80VDualSport I'm mostly sad because I really want one but I'm away from home for 2 years. Maybe I'll be lucky and find a low mileage one when back. Desperate to ride one from Ushuaia to Alaska.

arent the 24 horse power just too little? im considring it but it sounds too low. can i cruise with it on the highway when im not having fun? because thats what it will do most of the time

I'll be honest. It's not a superstar on the highway. Especially mine being that it's set up for offroad. State roads are mint for a himalayan.
