When Royal Enfield first introduced the Shotgun 650 a few months ago I had the pleasure of taking it out to review. This time we've got it for a few weeks and this is the first time the Ol'Man has had a go on one.

first thing i liked about it, was all blacked out. i dont want to clean! waste of time! i like riding, have better things to do with my time.

The colour schemes are abysmal, they make a decent bike look awful, l've no idea what is going on when you look at the colours available for the 350's & 650 Interceptor. If they are trying to be modern or edgy then they've missed by a mile. Rear mudguard could do with another 50mm too......

second thing, i do not want to put my 300 dollar phone in the open while riding, its always in my inside pocket of my jacket. i like that google attachment for directions. just me. i just do not put my phone in the elements of 100 degrees or the 0 degrees.

Bought a Shotgun recently and love riding it. Plenty of power, good torque, very comfortable for distances and nimble enough in traffic

The problem I have with royal enfield is where are the balls . Let's see some big engined re. There all low powered and same size engines . I'd buy a 650 bsa single spend a bit of money and turn it into a cracking 650 single but a royal enfield is lacking . There cheap il give them that but there lacking . Truimph and harley are on a different level but cost more . Moto guzzi have a heritage not the fastest but they have a history were the customers no what there getting but I'm a bit lost with re. Turn your classic into a 650 turn your intercaptor into a 850 get a big cruiser on the go . You got the capabilities and money so kick out some bikes with some grunt . 😅

I like the look of ALL of the 650’s, but the weight, performance and handling make them a bad choice for me. They do not inspire confidence at low speed traffic especially when lane splitting, and on the open road the performance is somewhat underwhelming. Possibly had I lived in the English countryside like you chaps I would have had a different opinion. In Pattaya it’s not a very good choice. 😉

I really like the rear light . I’d prefer spokes but those don’t look awful . Oh , you just mentioned you like the rear light as well. Overall looks-wise , I like it. And the way it sounds. That is a lot of mat-black , but a shiny tank (with different color(s)) might make that alright too .

When Royal Enfield will rebore the cylinders to 883 cc they will have replaced the old Sportster. Shame on HD. 😮

The cheap multi sticker badging that they clear coated over, the off set gauges, and the useless tripper make zero sense to me especially for a platform that Rae advertised as a base for full customization. The tripper on my Scram Himalayan is useless and resets non stop. This bike should have a tach or a small non intrusive TFT type dash.
