What is the best play when you RG in the back and they respond with a phoenix? Do you place your own phoenix so it catches agro against the other phoenix? Or let the opponent's phoenix target the RG? (assuming he has dagger dutchess)

I personally just let his phoenix attack my rg first, then I drop my phoenix for his
