Pity they bought an overpriced and not very good fighter! Yeah the Yanks say its good, but that is because they need to sell thousands to recoup the 1.7 Trillion they will end up spending on it. Should have bought the F-22! But the Yanks wont sell that one!

If you are comparing the F-22 to an F-35 for the Netherlands you either don't know what the Dutch airforce does or have to deal with on a day to day basis or just don't know the difference between the plane. It's a great fit for this country and they are even trying to get 30 more due to how well they have been working out.

@@annekedebruyn7797 Nope, I am Australian and we are getting 72 of them. SO no comparisons at all, as different climates. I do know the difference, F-22 is a fighter, F-35 is a Fighter/Bomber. With missiles that the F-22 can carry, it would still be a better fighter. But as I said, the USA will not sell F-22's to anyone. But I hope your country can afford the expensive upkeep of them.

@@BatMan-oe2gh It's far cheaper than the F16 to uphold these jets and will only get cheaper when more are being made. That's the only reason why the F16 is going to be replaced. It's getting more expensive than it's worth.

@@annekedebruyn7797 My issue with the F-35 is that it is a Fighter/Bomber. The F-22 is a pure and deadly Fighter. There is already enough Fighter/Bombers in the Air Force, Navy, Army and Marines. Also the cost of them. Maintenance costs are very high, and engine hours are short hours before rebuild. I just think in an outright dog fight between Russian and Chinese jets, the F-22 will take them down very quickly. Anyway, if they use nukes, who cares what planes anyone has!

@@BatMan-oe2gh But this plane is going to a country that doesn't even have 5% of only the Navy airforce which is why the multi role aspect is important. Besides that, the F35 is cheaper per unit than the F22 was so I am unsure where the overprice thing is coming from. The F22 had a similar issue with high R&D costs. (150 million vs 90 million accordign to wiki.)
