Wow Mary! Everything is so lovely! Your bags are gorgeous! Love the beaded bag and tiny fairy book! Every once in a while I think about trying beading, but don’t think I’d ever be able to do it. The Irish lace piece so well done! The tiny egg cozy is so delicate! So sweet of you to give the butterfly away! Thanks for sharing your work, it’s always a joy to see! Hugs! 💕

Hi Pam, I quite enjoyed crocheting the two bags, not the white one. Beading isnt to difficult, especially if you have someone teach you one to one. Im hopeless at written instructions. Yes, the egg cozy is sweet and I am very envious of the work done by ladies in the past, it was so intricate. I daresay there are lots of talented crochet workers out there today. TFW Pam. xxx

@@marybarratt2649 Yes, there are some very talented ladies who bead and crochet! I love to crochet, but just can’t seem to get interested in doing anything like doilies and trims. I much prefer blankets, hats, scarves, sweater & shawls. Maybe I’ll give tiny beads a go one day! Hugs!

The bags are lovely, I dare say if you can’t crochet (like me ha ha) you could sew two doilies together. Reminds me of the doily bags I use to make and decorate years ago. Beautiful work as always.

Yes Ive got old hankie cases where two doilies were used. They must have had great eyesight way back then, much of the crochet was done on really fine hooks. Mind you, they had plenty of time on their hands to do it (upper class women). Feel sorry for those who had to make a living at it, their eyesight deterorated rapidly as a result, poor light not helping.

So pretty! Love the white one. Yes, I made that one, too, by Raine. It was difficult to even find the blue Pearl cotton thread size 5, I had to get the flies, which was a mess to unwind and use, lots of joins and knots. AND a 2.75 mm crochet hook, so I used a 3 mm. It turned out beautiful!

I worked with a l.5 hook and size 5 yarn and I also got some size 8 which worked well. I prefer finer crochet. Glad you had a go. There are some lovely patterns out there. Thanks so much for watching.

You have been very busy! Love the crochet and always greatly admire your beadwork! :) That egg cosy is so dainty.... when I crochet with sewing thread it takes me absolute ages and I need to do it under a magnifying glass.

I admire you for working in so fine a thread. I bought some really fine to give it a go but haven’t got around to it. I must say I enjoy using a 1.25 hook in the main and rarely use thick yarn and larger hooks as I can’t get much speed up. Tfw Sarah. x

You have to start by making chains until you can do them blindfolded and getting to hold a hook comfortably. After that there are only a few stitches to learn and then you can follow a pattern. Took me a while, I gave up, then went back to it. Love it now.

These are beautiful! I'm from Southern USA, so excuse my ignorance; but, why is it called a "Royal Society Crochet bag"? Thanks so much for sharing! You do beautiful work! I would love it if you could do some tutorials on how you make your beaded dangles and use beads to cover needle cases and such. Don't feel pressured to. I just thought I would ask.

The bag is an Edwardian pattern with that name but how it came about I’ve no idea. I rarely do beadwork tutorials, mainly because of time unfortunately. I’ve so many unfinished projects that I just don’t have much time for tutorials. Perhaps in the future. Tfw and for your interest. It is much appreciated.
