Welcome to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta.
The museum is named after Joseph Burr Tyrrell, a 26-year old geologist who while working for the Geological Survey of Canada stumbled upon an impressive skull of Canada’s first known meat-eating dinosaur not far from where the museum now stands.
The museum officially opened to the public on September 25, 1985.
It is the only museum in Canada devoted exclusively to the science of paleontology, and has one of the biggest displays of dinosaur skeletons in the world.
It is home to more than 160,000 individual specimens, over 300 of which are holotypes (an individual plant or animal that serves as the basis for the description of a species).
This is a stunning must see museum for anyone that loves and has an interest in dinosaurs, paleontology and anything related to the earths prehistoric past.

Some of my favorite Documentaries have been filmed there over the years. Especially some 1998 IMAX Film I accidentally overlooked. 3:15 Speaking of which, this was where the adventure began due to the smoke from a fossilized egg happened. I would give a thing for that 1998 IMAX Dinosaur Film to return to IMAX for a limited time & I can finally experience it & make up for lost time.

Many still have that "bird like" appearance. Some look like lizards from the sea....🤔🤔🤔
