Something that you see with Andrew that you don't see with any of the other British royal grooms is that he looks genuinely overjoyed to see his bride. It's sad that this marriage didn't last. They seemed so happy with each other here.

I mean Diana's dress was quite innovative in 1981. Sarah's dress style was very commonly seen in 1986. Diana's dress remind me of the Romantic Era in the 1830s. The period was notorious for having enormous sleeves.

When a lot of us girls watched this wedding, we thought Prince Andrew was that Disney handsome Prince us girls dreamt of to be his Princess, to have that fairytale wedding.. years later, I met my own Prince, I had a long wedding train (not as long as Fergie's, I wish!).. and we've been married for over 28 years. But this really was a beautiful grand wedding, she looked amazing.

Sad that their marriage ended. I just finished reading her book once again. Andrew was only allowed to be at home 40 days out of the year, due to his naval duties. And when he was home on occasional weekends, they had their royal duties to attend to. Too bad he couldn't have got a post closer to home. Not many couples can remain a couple when they don't really get the time together to be one.

Diana wore the Spencer tiara because it was her family's own tiara and she wasn't a commoner, but a member of the nobility. Sarah WAS a commoner, and it was considered poor form for a commoner to wear a tiara. She took the flowers off after signing the register and replaced them with a proper diamond tiara. Being a royal princess, she was entitled to do so, so she did.

Notice at about 4.11 when they were coming through to the knave - her train/veil got caught for split second and pulled on her head. You can see her telling her father, who looked quickly back. Lucky it stayed together.

I disagree with the comment that Sarah hada seat at the royal table, she just had to "sit down". It's quite obvious that the "establishment, had not moved with the times, and they succeeded in making it a nightmare for those that marry into it. It's fairly obvious that Charles and his siblings had problems, since all 3 older children are divorced (the first time that's ever happened in the royal family).

Interesting floral tiara - so glad she changed it after the wedding (when she officially became the Duchess of York) Notice at about 4 min and 10 sec into the procession, Sarah's veil slightly gets hooked on something and it startles her and apparently she asks her father about it. He looks back briefly and luckily all is ok.

@sduncan23 Why didn't they make it? I can't remember if it was because she didn't like the royal life or if they just grew apart. Was it ever revealed?
