I think the name of the store where Bath & Body Works is was called Hickory Farms. I used to always shop in there during Christmas time.

YES! Thats it! Thank you. Only problem with unedited videos is if I can’t immediately think of something I can’t look it up. 😂

My wife loved this mall, she used to go there with her kids (previous marriage) years ago. The only time I remember going there was when I took my oldest son to see All Dogs Go To Heaven back in the late 80's. It's a shame all the malls are shutting down throughout the country. I remember going to KoP on any given Saturday and seeing a bunch of friends from school, we'd hang out at the food court and visit the arcade, then go to the record shops...great memories!

My friend and I visited this mall (also our childhood mall) on Wednesday night (11/16). It was the first time I had been at the Coventry Mall in almost a year, I assume. There is pretty much nothing left. All of the signs on the property referring to the Coventry "Mall" have been removed. The silence in the main corridor was so deafening that you could hear a pin drop. The only establishments still in the food court are indeed Corrado's Pizza and the Penn Steak & Fries. The mall entrance to Boscov's has been completely walled off with glass, and the mall entrance to Dick's has also been blocked. The only anchor store that still has a mall entrance is Kohl's, believe it or not. The Community Health Center, the Books-A-Million (which used to be a Borders), Golden Nails and Spa, and Pearl Vision are the only remaining non-anchor stores that I could point out. Gabe's has been here for a couple years (but never had a mall entrance) and it looks like a Rose's department store has opened up rather recently (obviously it doesn't have a mall entrance). The nearby Piccolo Mundo Italian restaurant in the neighboring strip mall has announced that they'll be opening an Italian market in the mall area (presumably only accessible via the outside) rather soon. It will be interesting to see where this new redevelopment takes the former Coventry Mall, now officially known as the Shoppes at Coventry.

That mall has changed! My timeframe is from the late 1970s and early 1980s when it was called Norco Mall. We did our food shopping at Pantry Pride, which was next to Thrift Drug. I can also remember going to the Sears and playing breakout on their display video game consoles. I also remember Hess's but we never shopped there. I am with you in that I would prefer an indoor mall as well. Who wants to go to an outdoor mall when it is snowing?

You just said exactly what I would have said if I was posting! Same memories. I remember JM Fields, the Goldmine arcade, Games People Play arcade, the movie theater, Joy shop. I remember my dad smoking inside the mall in the 80s.

My closest Books a Million added used music and movies a couple years ago. The music is complete chaos, but I sometimes find good deals. My closest mall added a Dick's Sporting Goods a few years ago and just added a new furniture store, but the best addition is EntertainMart. It is pretty similar to Hasting's, but with better pricing and they actually get new stock of boutique movies.

Love hearing your stories about the mall you basically grew up in. We had a mall over in Duncanville Texas about 20 minutes from my grandparents house. I loved going there for the Bookstores B. Dalton and Waldenbooks. Then I would hit up the arcade. My grandmother, uncle and myself would eat at the Wyatt's Inside the mall (it was one of the grab your tray and go down the line telling the servers what you wanted.) After dinner we would grab ice cream cones from Baskin Robbins. Later on the Bookstores disappeared and a Electronics Boutique was put in, they sold video games. Unfortunately they barely made it a year before leaving (There prices were higher than the Toys R Us that was just across the street from the mall.) After I started Junior college we really didn't go to the mall that much. I'm not really sure if the structure is still there. I haven't been to that place in 40 years. The memories of the place are still with me

Save the malls! I do miss the mall experience. When Return of the king came out we drove 30 minutes to a mall that was showing it. The 11am showing was sold out so we bought tickets for a later showing and walked around the mall all day until the later showing ha. That was a great time!

Where I live now in TX there was a great mall that has now been taken over by the technical college in our area. I really like that mall it was great at the time when I fist moved to TX back in 2000. But slowly went down hill. #SaveTheMalls

Since you filmed just a month ago, 5 places closed. Habitat Clothing, Kay Jewelers, Bath and Body Works, that CBD oil shop and the ATT store are now gone. Asides from the book store and anchors, there’s no place for normal everyday shopping anymore.

I appreciate you telling the stories and creating the video. I’m always looking for updated dead mall videos. Is there please any way you could just keep the camera on the mall stores while telling the stories? You have a fast rate of talking which is great for KZfaq to keep the excitement high but let us enjoy the walk with what your eyes see. Imagine that we are walking with you for the experience. Thanks so much.

I definitely understand what you’re saying. Though this is a vlog series, not a mall walk though pov video. So that’s really not my thing. But I’ll definitely at least film ahead more often in the future.

Maybe. Thats a a bit of a drive for a lot of people though. Especially those in the Pottstown area. I think it has a lot do with online shopping unfortunately. Just a sad sign of the times.

people running malls want strip malls for the exact opposite reason you want inside malls... they dont wanna pay for the upkeep, heating and cooling big buildings and just the every day stuff like replacing tp and lightbulbs... I will miss inside malls though when theyre gone...spent a good portion of my childhood hanging at malls #SaveTheMalls

Suppose so. But I’m more likely to buy online then go to a strip mall when the weather sucks. Too hot, too cold, rain, etc… I’m not going outside.

Are all US malls dead? It always seems that way. Here in Australia thats all people seem to do, go there. You can’t find a park and people are just everywhere. When ever I see a video in an American one it doesn’t seem that busy
