I love this kind of show that the riverside county sheriffs have put together. Can you make a episode on the process of getting hired and the academy for someone like me who is looking to get into this field of work.

I started as an explorer with RSO in 98 at Southwest for Temecula, until 2002. Rose to the rank of Sergeant. Was even a participant of the very first 1998 RSO Explorer Academy. Graduated HS and went into security, armed patrol when I was 18. Then worked as a Ranger for Pechanga. Went out of state, went sworn for a city, and then last 10 years was a deputy in Nevada. Became Rangemaster, FTO, K9, drug interdiction. And for a short time was a volunteer firefighter. Don’t hold that against me. Awesome advisors there at the time and I believe one is still an advisor. I attribute everything to the Explorer Program and all the deputies at the time. Didn’t want to join RSO at the time due to the moral due to the Sheriff at the time. I wish the Sheriff at the time was like Sheriff Bianco and I probably would have stayed with the department. Now I am back in Riverside County and thinking of getting my Basic Waiver and applying out here. Had to move back to help family, and family comes first. But thank you for the Explorer Program at Southwest! Never knew it existed until I was introduced to it at middle school career day. Had an Explorer there and told me about the program.

Great video! I have been talking to my son for the past two years about an explorer program. He listened to this in podcast form and loved it. You guys do a great job, and training up the next generation is the most important task we have.
