1985 and 1986 had extremely high crime rates with more cars stolen, joyriding was out of control. My Dad had three cars stolen in those two years one in Finglas, another in Coolock and another in Donnycarney and he was mugged in Coolock. Safe city? Dublin was rougher then than it is now. Oh yeah just remembered my mother was mugged in Donnycarney in 1984! That's why they had to open Spike island in Cobh,Cork to put all the Dublin joyriders into and lock them up.

@@pauldunneska Finally, someone speaking sense and not this rubbish about the "good old days and leaving the front door open" type comments. It was a lot rougher in the 80s. In 30 years time people will look back at these days saying "it's not as good as 2018/2019" etc.

There's groups of tourists openly walking around places like Smithfield,Sherrif St and Merchants Quay. Back in the 80s even Dubs didn't walk around these places unless they were from there. Summerhill and Gardiner St were virtual no go areas to outsiders,places like finglas were wild west shows.

That show embarrassed me as a serving Garda at the time and I am sure it was quite useless at solving any of those crimes or getting property back to its owners. But my Dad watched it religiously.
@user-vt7ob9by1g8 ай бұрын
Except, back then, the police were predominantly free of parasite control, unlike today, where the top brass are firmly locked into the same parasite system running the globalists controlled government. The result is ultra low moral/huge drop out figures for the Garda, which will get much worse, as the parasites implement their EU countries, plans over the next 5 /10years. However, no more armed raids on banks/PO's because everybody manipulated into a CBDC/SC trap.
