RTIC SoftPak 20 & Igloo Yukon 50 Ice Retention Test

Ice retention test using the 2 high end coolers that I own. Very happy with the performance of both! Just purchased the RTIC SoftPak 20 and I have owned the Yukon 50 for over 5 years. At the end you will see that I forgot to film day 5. I apologize, I had hunters and just forgot! The Yukon did not have any ice left on day 5 but everything was still cold and I used the cooler all weekend without adding any ice. The Yukon cold lockers are great coolers!

How has the softpak held up? Any zipper or stitch issues?

Still using the RTIC softpak on a weekly basis with no issues. The zipper has held up great and all the stitching is in tact. I will say that I have maintained the zipper by using zipper grease on it every few months.

I’m pretty sure the Yukon would of lasted longer with ice if it didn’t have that many soda cans and bottles in there but in reality that’s how someone will typically fill up the cooler. There’s other videos where they show them test different ice chest with just 3 cans of sodas and last 7 to 8 days . I’m debating still on buying a Yukon or a Kysek cooler. The Yukon did good with all the drinks in there. You should do another test with just 3 cans and see how long it will last 😁. Thanks for posting.

I think I will do that when it warms back up here, it finally got cold and we both know that the Yukon will hold ice for 2 weeks or longer when it is cold outside. Also, check ebay because I'm sure you can get a better deal on the Yukon there.

Turn that RTIC upside down full of ice and water and do a leak test please

It will leak pretty good, sent mine back. Go pelican or yeti for leak proof softside. I love pelican.

@@bryces411 It's interesting that the Yeti softs won't leak, but the hard coolers will.

IGLOO was stupid to stop making the Yukon line of coolers and they exited the "High End" cooler market when IMHO the Yukon was better than YETI, Pelican and the other High End coolers. Now IGLOO just makes Mid Level and lesser coolers. Bad Marketing on IGLOO's behalf because few people ever learned about the Yukon line of coolers. I have 4 assorted sizes from the 20 up to the huge 120 and am going to take good care of them because as your test showed age makes no difference in a good cooler
