Hi Nick, thanks for the heads up in this. I haven’t looked at the footrests closely enough to see that they can be locked in place but it is good to know. Glad that you are enjoying this kayak 😀 I think everyone I know that has one praises it’s performance on the water.

It’s a good question and one that I get asked quite often! Both are very good kayaks for open water fishing on the coast or offshore. The RTM Rytmo is the faster of the two and feels touch lighter to paddle / cuts through the water easier. The Viking Profish Reload is not too far behind though in terms of speed. The Reload is the more stable of the two and is outfitted better for fishing with the removable tackle pod a massive advantage on this kayak. It also has more rod holders and brass threaded inserts at the bow and stern ready to bolt on an anchor trolley system. It also has the option to add different pods and the Chill Pod to the rear cargo areas both have good sized front hatches, both are rudder ready. The reload is heavier but does have proper side handles. I would find it tough to choose between the two and often say that if you are into enjoying a bit of paddling as much as the fishing then I find the Rytmo the nicer one to paddle. Most are into kayak fishing for the fishing though so the Reload wins as the better all-rounder for fishing! Both are really great fishing kayaks though and I’d happily fish and paddle either 😀🎣 hope this helps!
