it looks like Nvidia is pulling a fast one on us. if a 4-year-old midrange card has the same performance as RTX 3050. so where is the new architecture? I personally believe it was Nvidia who created the GPU shortage. and AMD took a ride on it. just imagine how much money people got suckered into.

I bought my 1660 ti back in March of 2019 for 299. Can't believe that it is still being sold as new and it costs 100 to 200 more than mine cost 3 1/2 years ago. Insane

At the current price, the 3050 should never be bought by anyone. Nvidia and the other companies need to be taught that this deliberate escalation of prices for stagnant year on year performance is unacceptable!

@@fakewizz3233 In my country, the exchange rate is 2.7 of my dollars to the USD so you see that what I pay is 3x what you pay. However, I think you have failed to grasp the point. Let me explain, the costs of these lower end cards, and the 3050 is the lowest tiered card for Nvidia, have been moved upwards to the point where you now have the price of $350. Btw, this card is a lot more in more places than where you purchase from. I bought a 1050ti for $155 a few years ago. These price jumps are not simply the machinations of supply and demand, and are definitely not inflation. You guys up there have been fastidiously efficient in curtailing the latter. The higher priced of the 1660 has been due to crypto and lack of supply, the insatiable greed of capitalism and the rampant consumerism of many. An RTX 3050 is not worth the price they are selling it for. I would have added a wee bit to that $ and even bought an RX 6600 instead.

so basically ... If you own a 1660 Ti, there is literally no point in upgrading, because the upgrade would be 2-5 fps ( rtx and dlss are also included, but I don't beleive you'll be running rtx on games that support it )

I have rtx 2060 S and in Cyberpunk on max settings i have something beetween 40-50 fps. So its not that bad, but also on weaker gpu- you for sure need to lower settings. I think this card will be cheap asf soon. But for now- disgusting performance in this price.

For sure DLSS is a fact to buy a 3050 'cause of DLSS and RayTraycing, but you can also go with the Software lossless Scaling and use the FSR Function or you can go with the Freeware Version Magpie (just the input lag suxx). If you can buy the 1660S or Ti for a good price i would reccomend it, but if you can go with the 3050 so why not when you get it for good money.

Im getting the 3050 OC from best buy for like 380 bucks. Just thinking about it. Its a 1660 ti but with dlss and minor ray tracing? Still better than my laptop with 1650. But 16 series was pretty big when it was 2019. But i dont remember if the 30 series was around back then either?

Even normally RTX 3050 gives 4 or 5 FPS more and it heats way less than GTX, plus you can do better live stream due to 8 GB of VRam vs GB of VRam. After turning on DLSS it gives you 20 FPS extra which is a huge difference.

I would still prefer RX6600 over RTX3050. At least for the price In my country (RX6600 cost around 530 usd while RTX3050 and GTX1660ti cost the same at around 500 usd. )

спасибо за обзор-тест, нет смысла покупать 3050, если у тебя 1660, особенно за такие деньги что она сейчас стоит. Система Ryzen5 2600 + 1660 Super, играю в Киберпанк 2077 на максималках в 50фпс, меня вполне устраивает.

нету смысла, нужен pci 4.0, у ryzen 5 2600 pci.3.0 в итоги ты потеряешь 3-6 фпс в играх, и твоя rtx 3050 превратиться в gtx 1660 super

Don't forget, the 1660ti or the 1660 super didn't costs as much as the rtx 3050 either. And then seemed to use LESS power. 120w vs 130w.

@Nocturnal Death you are right. My opinion, GeForce 3 was way more magnificent video card when it was released, than modern RTX cards, that shows very optional effect. And GF3 really give you those what never was showed before. Beautiful water in Morrowind and bump mapping on textures in Doom 3.

Como estaba el tema hace tiempo aky en españa1660 usadas en 300 euros..de echo hay gente que todavia no a despertao t llevan mas de un año graficas tipo rx570 o 1060 entre 150 y 200 pero hay muxa oferta y puedes ncontrar.. la semana pasada pille una 1660ti usada en 50 euros muy buen estado y con la caja la tengo funcionando en un hp premontado y va de lujo.. ojala no vuelva jamas la mmierda de mineria y la especulacion que casi se cepilla el mundo del pc gaming..

Friends, after watching this video, do not decide to buy a gtx 1660. rtx 3050 has dlss feature, you can increase fps up to 20-30 fps with it.

Oh thank you nvidia for releasing the rtx 3050, a card that edges out the 6 year old gtx 1070, 1 entire year after the rtx 3060. At a time, when in a few months, intel will release their cards and in 7-8 months nvidia, AMD and likely intel will release their new GPU's, all with better AI and DLSS like features. We all truly appreciate that this rtx 3050 costs nearly as much as the gtx 1070 and uses almost the same amount of power, 6 years later. And great job nvidia for making the mobile version of the rtx 3050 worse than the laptop version of the gtx 1070 while not really using that much less power (95w vs 115w) and giving it half the vram. It must be so hard to do even this much when you have 2 node advantages and 2 architecture advantages and 5-6 year time frame. And I gotta really appreciate your honesty nvidia because I am sure you can produce the rtx 3050 at $250 and still remain profitable, when AMD struggles to make a much cheaper card (rx6500xt) at $200 and remain profitable. We know you truly care about gamers and always price your cards reasonably. Oh but it has DLSS so that makes everything ok. It isn't like FSR cannot be used at higher resolutions without much of a quality loss, and be implemented in games that don't even support it.

I bet this happens because of the lack of gpus in the global market, in my country you can't find a gtx 1070, or any other gpu, unless you pay double their pre-covid prices. So any new gpu sells a lot.

If you can't hit a good frame rate then put it on. Depends on the game your playing, for example cyberpunk can't do 60fps on high settings so put it on.

@@chunk9165 it says the information about which one is more powerful.... The higher the fps, the more powerful it is Not just that but the temperature of the GPU also matters And unless you have a good cpu, it will be bottlenecked, like the cpu would slow down the GPU

The 3050 really annoys me... It's bottlenecked a little by PCIE 3.0 in some games, which means you need PCIE 4.0 for it to work properly, but that's not really something that's very present on budget options, and I would say that a 50' series card is very much a budget card........ So it's a budget card that requires you to buy non-budget cpu and motherboard for it to work to it's full potential, which is really frustrating..... Get an RTX 2060 instead...... And don't even get me started on the dogshit called RX 6500xt.....

can you show me benchmarks of rtx 3050 on pcie 3.0? because 6600 and 6600xt have the same issue but does not affect fps. x8 line work just fine and 3050 have it.

@@franzrivera1316 I don't remember which, but some reviewer compared pcie 3 and 4 for an RTX 3050, and it showed noticeable differences in some games. But in other games it made nearly no difference.

if you just search for it here on youtube you will find comparisons, where pcie 4 clearly has better performance, it's not a huge lead, but a lead none the less... besides that, the rtx 2060 is faster than the 3050 either way, so just go with a 2060

At this day and age, it's not only about the fps anymore. RTX has AI that can easily help with FPS using DLSS which is quite superior than FSR. Also content creators while streaming and doing contents for better quality outputs benefit big time with the newer technology. Sure, if you're just solely using your card for gaming, then go for the 1660TI. Just stop with the comparison, "hey my card can handle this and that and it is from 1999". Nobody cares. Just upgrade if you have the money.

Can I use DLSS in GTA V? Cause I can use FSR in gta v. Also, there's no dlss in resident evil 8. There's more examples. Now, if we assume that somehow the rtx 3050 costs $250, it officially costs more than the midrange in turing, the gtx 1660 super at $230. Is this suppose to be a budget card? Cause it often times costs nearly as much as a rx6600. Nah man, if this thing is gonna cost the amount it does, I expect more performance. Cause no way in hell is it a budget card. What the fuck is the point of upgrading to it when it costs as much as it does?

@@siyzerix It's called future proofing. GTA V doesn't need DLSS to run smoothly. Resident Evil Village was released a year ago. Given NVIDIA keeps on updating old games to support their new technology, I doubt you'll still be giving the same argument today. Also, inflation exists, and its eating the industry right now.

I don't know how many of you will agree but a 1660 ti/super with fsr on quality looks almost identical to a 3050 w dlss/ray tracing. At almost identical framerates

No, FSR looks much worse than dlss. If you can't spot the difference then you are probably using like a 16" monitor. EDIT: + 1660ti does not support raytracing

@@belec5964 The 1660ti does through a driver update Nvidia released. You're not gonna get playable frame rates though.

@Spots Corner You are talking shit bro. I got GAINWARD RTX 3050 GHOST and i have no problem's with dlls. At ultra quality it gives me like 20-30% fps more. Also i got it overclocked (+200MHz Core, +1200MHz memory) and max temp I've seen was like 70-75°C. Idk if you are just talking shit on purpose or if you got a broken gpu.

and it has "rtx" on it. even though it's pointless since it's too weak to render proper rt without sacrificing resolution and graphic quality. The only redeeming quality of this card is DLSS.

@@jakubfrei3757 You said it, some games, but not all games, if you are buying A 3050 OR 1660 ti i don't think you are going to play 2k or 4k resolution games, just by raw performance 3050 is better, only thing is if you can buy it at MSRP price or lower than 1660 ti.

my 1660 ti MSI Ventus costs almost 1k euros and i dont know why.. its just rediculous because its nothing special and all other like ASUS or so are priced between 280 and 370 euros
