Today, I discuss Honkai: Star Rail's v1.6 Character Ruan Mei, and her kit, the best builds (relics and light cones), the best Ruan Mei teams, and lastly how good Ruan Mei is. There has been a lot of debate regarding how good Ruan Mei is, and what she offers that is worthwhile for players to pull for. Additionally, Ruan Mei has been compared to multiple current and future harmony characters, including Bronya and Sparkle. As for what Ruan Mei offers, she is a brand new Ice Harmony Character who focuses on increasing the damage of allies, increasing allies' speed, increasing weakness break efficiency of the team, delaying enemies, and much more! Her banner consists of Ruan Mei, Xueyi, Tingyun, and March 7th and will be the first phase of version 1.6. Lastly, I review everything you need to know about Ruan Mei and how she has completely taken over the meta in Honkai Star Rail.

Completely out of jades but worth it got her and light cone can play with full ice team Ruan Mei/Jing Liu/Pela/Gepard gonna be fun. Hopefully we get a lot of jades before Black Swan gets here she looks amazing as well.

My team comp is Blade with a hp/crit build, Ruan Mei, Silverwolf with a break effect build and Lynx, it’s actually broken how fast you break weaknesses, especially if you have jingliu instead of Blade.

This might come in handy to know if you didn't notice right away but, with the 20% extra break effect first major trace Ruan Mei has, you only really need 160% Break Effect to get the damage boost from her third major trace since the 20% applies to her as well. More BE is better for her of course, but if you're struggling to hit 180% outside of combat, just keep in mind that you only actually need 160% as the rest will go into effect the moment combat starts.

Against the blue beetle weekly boss, my team of Jinglui, Argenti, Gepard and Loucha beat the boss safely, so I don't seem to need Ruan Mei for that team. The extra protection against the boss is really helpful. MOC might be a different situation. Black Swan might be of more use then Ruan Mei for my account and dot team.

My Ruan Mei was guaranteed. Got her and Xueyi within 15 pulls. Got screwed out of Fu Xuan to secure the sure pull but I got Bronya out of that 50/50 loss so I'm not even mad. Wish I had that kind of luck with Powerball or something.

In about 110 pulls, I got Ruan Mei, followed immediately by Clara in the next multi-pull, as well as an E6 Xueyi. I'm very pleased with my luck this banner! I'm now guaranteed for Black Swan. I currently have about 90 pulls so I'll probably try going for Kafka's light cone as well. Ruan Mei is crazy good! It's hard to not use her. Her insane damage buff and weakness break efficiency are too good haha.

I'm sure it's not even close to meta (I'm a newer player that's just getting to level 80 characters), but I've been absolutely wrecking everything with March 7th (I still don't have a better mitigator/healer), Ruan Mei, Bronya, and Xueyi, with whom I was lucky enough to get 4 eidolons so far. With all the buffs going, Xueyi is getting constant follow ups and with increased DMG, crit, element etc she is absolutely cleaning house. I usually save March's ult for times when enemies are FINALLY about to recover from break (after the blooms fade) to freeze them. I keep her stacked with lots of ele effect for this purpose. It's been a blast. I can't wait to see who else she makes insane. I can't even fathom what she's like completely maxed out with optimal gear

unfortunately no, its mainly just for her basic attacks dealing more dmg, so id suggest hp or def orb more for the survivability!

@@Moonnverse nah that's understandable since it very well could be a cherry plum blossom. But if you refer to something as "sakura" then you're saying its a cherry at the end of the day rather than a plum. Although, I imagine Ruanmei's is the national flower of China which would be the Chinese plum or Japanese plum bc of her being a Chinese character and having pink flowers and traditional painting aesthetic in her animations

I'm DEVASTATED. I accidentally did my echoes of war yesterday because I was sleepy while playing. I forgot Ruan Mei uses the new echo of war boss, so now I have to wait until New Year for the weekly reset. My Ruan Mei is stuck at level 7 traces and locked bonus abilities. I'm crying with the only 26% damage boost from her skill. 😭😭😭

I had the same weird luck. Pulled Ruan Mei, two pulls after I got a Clara (making mine E2). Got her LC also in like 25 pulls. Pretty lucky banner for me, left me resources to work on getting a few Xueyi dupes.

Got Ruan Mei, then kept pulling for more Xueiy Es. Got Bronya (E1) 37 pulls later and I kept pulling, satisfied that I either build some pity or get Ruan E1 in 50 or so pulls! Took only 5 more pulls... I'm happy with it. Maybe I'll get a Baldie too to help out with PF. Otherwise, I'm all set for 1.6 too.

It’s nice but there’s good alternatives! You can do s5 memories for the break effect and energy, if you don’t have many harmony LCs then meshing cogs can be nice for the energy :)
