This idea that Salah should be sold because he’s gonna be 32 next season is so bizarre to me. He’s still fit and firing what’s the point in selling him? Us having him is worth more than 80 million transfer fee. I’d understand if he wasn’t playing well. But he’s still amazing. Too much Football Manager m8

Ikr ? What are we gonna do with 80M ? Who can we get for 80M that will bring in the numbers he is providing us. Sure, we won't be able to 'cash in', but I would rather we compete at the highest level than just cash in.

the way Ruben Amorim won a title, probably a second one soon, with a team that hadn't won it in 20 years and who have been in crising for the best part of a decade at least. He deserves the jump more than anyone who works in Portugal right now. Liverpool brought Klopp after a disaster season for Dortmund and he was class, don't see why Amorim wouldn't be when he has the confidence of someone who is doing the impossible in Portugal
@Kitos1112 ай бұрын
As a Sporting fan, I agree with you! In fact I think every big club in Europe should watch this and rethink signing Amorim! Leave him at Sporting for the next 20 years.

Ok but what is your honest opinion
@Kitos1112 ай бұрын
@@kidfuryplayzyt3017 My honest opinion is that this man is going to be a phenom. Not just tactically, but the way he communicates is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a Sporting fan for over 30 years so I am no stranger to losing. Before Amorim got there, fans were pretty desensitized to disappointment. Granted, a lot of that had to do with the corruption that has plagued the Portuguese league for the last 4 decades, but Sporting fans were used to only fighting for a top 3 spot and occasionally winning a cup here and there. This man completely revolutionized the club and IF Sporting wins the league this year, they’ll bank enough money to where they can actually start legitimately competing in Europe. They very well may be in a position to either make a decent champions league run (Quarter Final) or seriously contend for an Europa league. None of this would have been possible before him.
@Jhortex142 ай бұрын
If he stays and Gyokeres somehow doesn’t leave, Sporting will have a huge chance of winning 2 or 3 league titles in the next 3 years, Benfica will probably sell Joao Neves and/or Antonio Silva, sack Schmidt mid season when they’re 3rd by December and Porto, oh boy, we are absolutely screwed, I doubt we’ll win another league title in the next 5 years to be totally honest
@Kitos1112 ай бұрын
@@Jhortex14 I agree about Gyokeres but I don’t see Sporting turning down 100 million offers, nor should they lol. Joao Neves and Antonio Silva are phenomenal players, if Benfica loses them and Rafa/Di Maria leave, they’re going to have a very difficult time replacing all of these pieces, regardless of how much they sell the 1st two for. Also, it is sad to see Porto in the state that they are in, especially because they have one of the best coaches in the world, in my opinion. The biggest concern with them is they don’t have many assets to make money from (Other than Diego Costa) and even then, I know that in a lot of cases they don’t own 100% of the players rights so I don’t even know how much profit they would make from the sales. Again, Benfica went through the crisis in the late 90’s and early 00’s, Sporting had DECADES of crisis after crisis. Porto will get through it as well.

To be fair, you cannot compare that Porto squad that Villas Boas had, to what Amorim has and had with Sporting. That Porto squad was undeniably, one of the best squads from a Portuguese team of all time. Rubem Amorim won a title league with Sporting with a team of academy boys and when no one was giving anything for that squad, while Villas Boas had one of the best portuguese squads to his side. Even an avaradge manager could´ve win what he won with that talent on that squad.

Quansah has been excellent ball playing CB for Liverpool, he knows the league and the team. Endo has been a really solid 6. There would still be Diaz, Jota, Gakpo for one of the attacking role, that's without taking the youngster coming through into account, something Klopp talked about. The point of spending was that the new manager wouldn't need to rebuild, FSG will not give money to a new manager except the one generated by sales.
@theredguy87462 ай бұрын
Here's the problem we have. There are no current managerial options that are absolute certified elite managers. We were fortunate that Klopp was available when we got him. We don't have that luxury this time. Any manager we choose is a risk. Both Amorim and Nagelsmann, highly rated young managers, but haven't managed in the PL. Sure Klopp hadn't either, but his achievements by the time we got him were undeniable. De Zerbi is an option, and yes he does play nice football and has managed in the PL, but I just can't ignore the fact that he got embarrassed 4-0 by both Roma and freaking Luton.

In England it is very difficult to win a Premiership with 3 at the back. I don't think anyone has ever done that. Amorim will do as good as the Benitez level at best and at the Rogers level at worse. He could win us a Champions League with some luck, but not a Premier League. He will use the first season to adapt and will probably buy some mistakes at a high price which he will be forced to play to justify the price. He will have to sort out Salah who will be 32 next June and Van Dijk who is even older. The goalkeeper position will also start to be taken into consideration after next season. In the second season he will have more pressure to deliver and if Liverpool are out of the title race early he may be sacked or else given one last season. The fact that they are offering him only a 3 year contract and not 4 or 5 looks like they lack belief or maybe are holding on for somebody better to arrive. Taking a team after a legend like Klopp is very courageous indeed. The fans will also be disappointed as the football will not be as exciting and fast as that of Klopp. However, if he takes over I will support him and hope for the best.

You're drunk, every actual option has its risk because we want a coach with future, is Naggelsman really that much proven when his only experience in a big team is failure? I don't see how he's not an even bigger risk. Sure, Bundesliga is a bigger league than Primeira Liga, BUT winning it with Bayern for the 10th time in a row is just average in comparison to winning the latter with Sporting after 20 years. Villas Boas is not a fair comparison because Chelsea gave him the gig after just ONE season with Porto and they had been winning 6 out of 8 previous leagues since the Morinho period, they were THE force in Portugal before VB, indeed an stupid and lazy comparison (literally "oh, he's portuguese").
