I enjoyed her character. Both women were good but I prefer Katie Cassidy. She seems more believable and more badass. She also didn’t give off I’m evil and playing you vibes as Gen’s Ruby. I still love both tho.

That’s true! I feel like it backs the theory that originally Ruby was good when it was Katie, but when she got sent back to hell she was tortured, brainwashed and turned evil so when came back as Gen that’s when she was evil.

What? It was great the fact that she was this blonde girl and then Sam told her to get out of that body and she possessed the dead girl in the hospital bed... Because of that we got the Sam×Ruby scenes with a massive great chemistry since they were a couple in real life

true, I mean obviously the chemistry beteen Jared and Gen was different but supposedly that's why Ruby turned on them, she and Sam were supposed to get married but when the actors announced their engagement they thought it was too cheesey and changed the script. Ruby gettin' the las tbit of humanity burned away in her time in hell also makes sense as an explaination, or f course she was playin' all along but there were to many demons in the later seasons becoming mor humane to make that logial in the SPN universe

I think 2nd Ruby was more suspect because at this point, she had fooled Sam and she basically controlled him, so she was less keen on being convincing

I just didn't like how the writers first went with the whole Dean/Ruby "from enemies to friends" trope... only to later make a full 180° and try to make "Suby" happen out of literally nowhere. Dean started to see Ruby under a different light after that one witch episode when he realized Ruby, like all demons, used to be a human being. Blonde Ruby was more of a true neutral, while Brunette Ruby was more chaotic neutral.

Out of nowhere? Dean found out Sam was drinking demon blood because of her. Thats why he turned on her. He thought she was leading him to the evil path their dad John warned him about before he died. And he was right.

I think they were equals. Katie played a more hands on and warrior like Ruby, righteous even since her evil wasn't set in stone. Genevieve played a more cold, evil, manupulative Ruby

they actually changed the script durin' the production of season 4. and they're's still the theory she changed to a full on cold hearted demon after bein' send back to hell torturing the last bit of humanity away, which would go along with the change in plans for her character, so even if she was supposed to be evil all along even the writers didn't know it for season 3

This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video for My All Time Favorite Female Antagonist’s in Supernatural. Katie Cassidy Will Always Be Ruby To Me but Genevieve Padalecki did a Really Great job as Ruby. 4:48. to 5:23. The Parallel’s are really on point a both are hilarious.

perfect ending! to e fair, even the late seasons flashbacks were with Gen as Ruby so the theory that blonde ruby(Katie) was actually mostly sincere and got turned around on her little "staycation" in hell, especially with all the other stuff we know about demons and how they certainly can have some humanity left, at least when they haven't been in hell forever, would check out, plus the script was changed to not be as cheesy... also if Sam would've learned faster/started earlier and taken out Lilith as anything but the last seal the cage would've stayed closed, without Rowena class magic probably forever(first demon has to be the last seal and all that, maybe even Rowena wouldn't have had a chance if the cage wasn't opened the first time)

I prefer Katie 's Ruby as well. But it all worked out in the end. Ruby was fire! She's one of my favourite female characters. Both she and Bela. I was actually really loving the Blonde!Ruby and Dean bonding that was happening in season 3. Katie and Jensen played off of each other very well. SPN has a great knack for writing Demons.
