I love that y’all are fans of the “good enough” rather than perfection. I bought a China head doll for myself last year for a mere $30. Her dress and hat were pretty tattered, but all I did was repair the areas that enabled the dress to stay on her and stitched up a couple of spots on her leg to keep the stuffing (sawdust?) from falling out. She’s beautiful just as she is. I also got an Emma Clear china head on auction that I’m in love with. She’s got a lot of flaws on her face that appear to have been overlooked as they’re under the fired on glaze. Her body is stained up and really needs more stuffing, but again, I love her as-is.

I have found hats harder than dresses...it took me two years to teach myself fine French sewing...and I think because my great grandmother had me make doll clothes by hand and my paternal grandmother tight me fine embroidery with input from my great grandmother...I tore apart so many pieces at a very young age, but I found it so beautiful and so relaxing I did nit give up. I was very lucky in those women. My mother taught me basic tailoring and to use a sewing machine in an old Singer.l I used to make heirloom baby clothes including yand embroidered christening gowns for family and friends. I then became quite disabled but feel my hands cam]n manage doll clothes with the meds I now take. I miss it so much! And your presentations are so inspiring.

Your channel is so interesting and this gentleman is so refined, but i wonder if i may say so, do you think in future you could have him wear a mic or with an overhead mic so that we can hear him more audibly as what he advises is so priceless but i have to really strain my ears. I hope you don't mind my comment because all these to me is not just merely videos but a historical record of all vintage dolls which may be the subject of study for future generations since all these experts are not as many in younger generations. They may be the last generation who are so well versed and so well educated in these.
