The interviewer is amazing! She was fun and made Madonna feel like she was talking to a friend. Where are interviewers like her today?

Ruby is too hard on herself, I think this was a really informal and funny interview and Madonna actually seemed to be enjoying it I think!! I don't see hate in her eyes at all - she was laughing and cuddling up to Ruby!!

Madonna was totally into this, she was coming back full force with her own brand of humor and Ruby is always hysterical. Nothing wrong here!

There was an interview that Ruby did, speaking about how she went wrong with this interview. I don't see it, I'm 45 and have followed Madonna since 1983. This was the most candid and down to Earth interview I've ever seen. She made Madonna relax and be real. I really enjoyed this.

I actually think it's a really revealing interview, she opens up quite a lot.

Both of them were really into it! Madonna clearly reads the environment to her liking and she can really and easily get into whoever is interviewing her. Ruby is very funny and Madonna went for it too. If this was a recent interview it would still make sense. You don’t get this from many people these days. You don’t get intelligent pop starts to be able to carry on a decent conversation.

What the hell is everyone talking about?! Madonna seems to enjoy the interview! She's being spontaneous and goofy, just like Ruby, she's laughing all the time and not bothered by the questions, it even looks like they're girlfriends. This is a funny interview!

I first watched this interview 12 years ago and thought nothing of it. I actually thought it was a fun and intimate interview my first time watching. As I watch it back and hear Ruby’s own tortured perspective, I really see more of Ruby’s insecurities. Madonna is stiff at first but loosens up (i.e. talking about cumming!) later on in the interview. I still enjoy it after all these years! Also, Madonna was in her mid-30’s and looked amazing.

I always liked this interview I don't think it was bad.

It’s so funny hearing Ruby’s recollection of this interview. Madonna was so controlling about the cameras but she chose the wrong one that’s why Ruby looks airbrushed because it had gel on it. She said “I looked creamy and Madonna looked like the surface of the moon” 😂

Ruby wax was intimidated by madonna and felt she lost control over the interview...she says that she went in to aggressive towards madonna and it went downhill from there. She blames herself on it however anyone watching can see that it was actually a good and revealing interview. She could of talked about the music and process etc than focusing on ageing.

I feel like a book could be written about this interview. There are so many dynamics that could be dissected from each moment to the next. Truly an "odd couple" vibe. Fascinating.

I think Ruby made a good interview, no stupid questions, the good thing about this is that she had a conversation, relaxed and funny. But in the other hand I think Ruby was a little too invasive, and Madonna made an effort to keep good spirit. It was a good interview though.

I think for once Madonna was overpowered by the interviewer, rare. Madonna almost looked embarrassed about about all the chin posture she was trying to create and Ruby just rubbished the whole idea. Madonna looks tensed here she needs to learn how to relax and enjoy herrself sometimes and let go. Ruby has a great smile, natural, Madonna only perfected it years later.

Madonna walked out on her in this interview. Poor Ruby, she has done such a fantastic job.

I actually loved the interview because it is unconventional. But the end was a disaster. I just don't get it why Ruby is so fixated on the bag! It just comes off really strange. I mean here's Madonna moving away from her because she keeps digging the bag, announces she is ready to leave and Ruby's still digging the bag! I don't know if something happened off camera but I suppose if there was any other footage, it would be there. Ruby did ask odd questions, started it all wrong (as she has said herself), she comes off a bit aggressive. Still Madonna seems quite playful and relaxed even though this does not do much favors for her new album release (which is why she was in Europe doing interviews). Anyways... after Ruby has blown M off at the end, she then sees Ruby doing a mock-up of herself as she's leaving... those two things is why she never got a second interview from Madonna. Madonna doesn't mind if you ask her tough or even odd questions, as long as their not stupid questions. She does care about camera angles and lighting - naturally, if she is doing her promo work and she's been in the business long enough to know her angles and how she wants to be portrayed on film. It's funny that should distract Ruby from doing her part. After all, we are talking about camera angles. Madonna is not mean about it, she just says that if you want to do this type of shot, don't use this camera, use that one. Okay, so the "don't touch my trunk" was a bit bitchy but that was after Ruby's rather off start to the interview. Jonathan Ross gave her a hard time in 1992, two years prior to this and Madonna got visibly angry during that interview - yet he did get a call. Madonna may be a demanding interviewee but Ruby messed her own chances up. Ruby is a brilliant and funny but blowing Madonna off at the end of a rather long interview (which she doesn't even grant often)... that is what finished her chances of ever scoring another interview. The whole bag incident just turns into this odd invasive episode of WTF. But, nevertheless, I still enjoyed this interview. At least it wasn't boring!

I love this interview and Madonna was giving it. I have seen more awkward interviews with Madonna where she clearly built a wall around her. In this interview, she was rolling with it. As for the handbag part, it seems staged and I don't think it was Madonna's real handbag at all. It is known that Ruby Wax was going through a rough patch, mentally and I think she judged herself too hard for this video.

The first 3/4 of the interview went well. The questions were fun and interesting, and Madonna seemed to enjoy herself. Going through the trunk and purse started out pretty funny, but it went downhill when Ruby was more interested in Madonna's belongings than Madonna.

first time seeing this, as a looong time M fan... i came upon this interview, after watching Wax having such fun with Sharon Stone, while interviewing her... I find this interview very revealing, often not in good ways for M, yet, very sincere ways... she was worried about aging way back then, and shows here an uncomfortable side with her own beauty and aging. It was all good until she shoved her coat in her face and started digging through her bag. That's rude to do to anyone, let alone a celebrity. I think madonna was 90% ok with the interview though. Think of it this way, ... I'm sure madonna has behaved way worse in certain situations not caught on camera. She's no saint. But yeah..... still a bit rude for a stranger interviewing her to do. Some good questions though.

Ruby was really hard on herself over this interview. Madonna seemed a bit snappy at times but shes been far worse than in this interview. The Oprah interview a few years later was much more frosty than this interview
