This wasn't Freddie Mercury's last TV interview. He gave another on the release of the Barcelona single alongside Montserrat for Spanish TV. Its a lengthy interview that annoyingly has Spanish overdubs but can be found on KZfaq. I think it was a couple of months after this one, maybe Rudi doesn't know about it.

Dear Mr. Dolezal, I saw this Interview a few times, and it is my absolute favorite .❤️ To me, it is good as it is, and it doesn't need any changes at all. Freddie looks really relaxed, and I really enjoy watching him so happy and lively, when he talks about his work with Montserrat Caballe. ❤️❤️❤️❤️I think it is good, that you hadn't guessed at that time, that he was ill, cause he surely didn't want to draw any attention to it, or be treated differently. The illness doesn't change anything in a deep and true friendship to a person at all. You stayed with him, and have been one of the very few People, who he really could rely on. So please don't regret anything of it. You probably gave him a good time instead. ❤️😊Love and Respect, Lara

You were to good of a friend to ask Freddie something that would make him uncomfortable. You were a good friend. I don't know why Freddie thought he didn't have many friends he could trust because he did. You were blessed to know him. I know the pain of him passing must have been enormous

Dear RUDI... all my admiration and respect for you and the great work you has been done..!!! Behind you... Freddie’s pic with you. He in mad man disguised, looks so thin. 😢 I really appreciate your work... you’re present in many videos, but especially in the last one, the making of “These are the days of our lives”, in which one we can see an exhausted Freddie, thin and fragile, who can barely walk... but courageous and with a will to carry on... until he couldn’t do it anymore. This video breaks my heart!! 💔 Big hugs and kisses to you from Chile 🇨🇱

Thank you very much Rudi for these good times when Freddie is the same, a super person, good people, fun, handsome and with a big heart and the best thing is to give us his music. When I see Queen's videos, on the one hand it makes me very sad because he is not with us (if he had not died I would have gone to meet him in London because it would have been a wonderful experience for me) but I am happy to think that he did not leave us noses because his legacy is there and we are many people who listen to Queen and Freddie gave us the best of himself in each of the songs.

thank you rudi i remember he wanted to meet montserra and do a duet im with stage fright but he sang all night with her superb album unfortunately the disease and came after but duo it was magic he wanted to make duet when he saw the first times that bright eyes full of stars I love you fredddie thank you rudi love & respect🌹

I think Rudi Dolezal's interview with Freddy Mercury is very successful. You can see Freddy in the face through the spot that he must have been sick at that time. But he still followed his passion professionally. He was simply the Lover of Life, Singer of Songs

@@MargotRecabarren Margot sweetie! 😘 I mean this video is certainly outrageous... You see Freddie having a good time dressed in drag and all that stuff and yet it's a heartbreaking video... I feel the same for "Living On My Own" song and video... Freddie knew very well to hide his grief and pain behind his smile...As the song says "I'm the Great Pretender"... The same goes with the line of the "Living on my Own" song : "Sometimes I feel I'm gonna break down and cry, nowhere to go nothing to do with time I get lonely so lonely..." yet you see him surrounded by hundreds of people at his birthday party... And last, "The Show Must Go On, inside my heart is breaking, my make up maybe flaking but my smile, still stays on..." I call these 3some masterpieces a "Trilogy of Freddie's sorrow and pain"

missevellyn24., you’re right, dear Eva!! 🥰 I think in this trilogy (IMO), must be “In my defense” too. But, even with “Living on my Own”, despite his joyful rhythm, the feeling is sadness. Freddie wasn’t very happy... in a middle of outrageous and foolish party, he’s not alone, but lonely. (I don’t know if I can express myself rightly about the words lonely and alone) Big kisses to you dear Eva!!

Nope, the final filmed interview was Royal Opera House 1988, its on youtube. Also a 1988 interview with Freddie and Montserrat in Spain
