I think I know why the brachiation doesn’t work here. I had the same issue while I was recording my overview of the new update. I created some islands with climbing frames between them to make the Orangutans climb more and I couldn’t make them brachiate at all. I think that the reason is that when the orangutan has some purpose of using the climbing frame, like going towards the enrichment item or food, just going from point A to point B it won’t brachiate but just use the climbing frame in the normal way. They only brachiate while using the climbing frames as the “enrichment” without the purpose of using the it to go somewhere. That’s why they won’t be brachiating between different islands or parts of the enclosure like in your case. Of course I can be totally wrong here but this is just something that I discovered. Anyways - Zoo Sicily is incredible and it’s such a cool habitat and concept!! Something like this would take me approximately 3 months to build 🥵😂

Dude! Thats it. I remember I took apart the locomotion system years ago, and that must be the reason. Hell they still haven´t changed this.... So the only solution is to deny them going to the other Island then. I´ll give this to frontier. They have to fix that.

Possum likely died in the Perth Zoo is what the news currently states. RIP Possum. Add a plaque in your zoo? This is such a massive space! And I like it. It really allows quite the ample amount of room for the primates to feel more free.

The orangutan throwing the possum was in Perth, Australia. And if I remember right, the possum didn't make it.

It's a shame about the brachiation, but this habitat is sososo pretty, I love the habitat barriers and the foliage and how they blend together so seamlessly. The sightlines are beautiful too.

so lovely to see sicily back :) I really enjoyed the Oceania islands and LEO, but the sicily style is so gorgeous and so fun to see the zoo nearly finished. if you'd ever consider doing little mini tutorials, (maybe 7 under 7 revival!) would love to see see one for that rope canopy over the hammocks, the new rope pieces seem tricky but you made them look so good. something like 7 tricks with the mudpiller I guess haha. that little viewing 'tongue' seeing the bracchiating orangutan up close - amazing! imagine being a guest in real life and seeing that, love it 😊

Auckland Zoo in New Zealand has a similar habitat for Orangs and Siamangs with arboreal pathways. One of the YT videos I watched said the ropes/climbers/aerial materials are sized for the different species hand sizes and capabilities. 48mm rope for the Orangs and 32mm for the Siamangs. Hard to imagine Frontier was that precise...

So, the game doesn't see the animals as being "loose" outside of the enclosure when you do this? Because I can see why they don't do this in real zoos since primates can be dangerous, being so much stronger than humans. I mean, I've seen areas where primates can swing/climb from one enclosure to another, but in this cases the people are usually caged with bars or fencing along both sides of the path as well as over the top of that path. (Mostly because _people_ can't be trusted no to try to reach out and touch the animals, and thus set off an incident.) I used to play Zoo Tycoon and I had to be really careful not to put climbable trees too close to the fenceline or the chimps and gorillas could leave the enclosure and get down on the path, then everyone would panic and run and the ape would be quickly boxed up by the game until I retrieved it and set it back in the habitat.
