When we first reunite with Paul, it's when he had lost most of his hope and energy searching for his family and lost victims of the mana disaster. The only thing that kept him going during this time was his Daughter Norn (shown by the many scenes of him patting her head). Paul's change in demeanor at the very end of the episode shows that hope and energy restored. We can attribute this to both his reunion with Rudy and his discovering that Geese has been aiding in the search for Paul's family the whole time. Geese also said he plans to check the unsearched Begaritt continent too which further ignites the flames of resolve for Paul. It's really cool to see Paul's journey up to now and how hard he fights to save others. Also, not sure if anyone has pointed it out yet, but that large crater Paul stopped in front of during the opening was the Fittoa region that they used to call home. I'm loving how well the anime is adapting the light novel/web novel. This story is a once in a generation masterpiece and I look forward to seeing how the rest is adapted.

2 things that the anime left out is 1. the explanation as to why that girl in pauls group is half naked. after the mana disaster both sisters were teleported together and found by bandits who violated them. the older sister recovered from the event, but the younger sister is still traumatized whenever a man looks at her, so her older sister decided to wear that outfit so all the mens eyes are on her in order to help her younger sisters trauma. you can see @1:32 in the video the two girls paul saved are the same the younger and older sister 2. when paul and rudy were talking before eris and ruijerd came back paul was mentioning how he hasn't slept with a woman since the mana disaster.

Paul meant, "Don't tell me you're looking for my family all this time." Gisse and Paul met a few months ago to talk about the search, and the fact that Paul did not search the nonhuman continents (the continent of demons, the forest where demi-humans live which is half of the Milles continent and the continent where Gisse now goes) Gisse left the meeting without saying whether he would help or not, so Paul thought not, in fact Gisse began to search the forest and made sure that the elf girl and the dwarf man were looking for the continent of demons. When Gisse heard that they had a child imprisoned and treated with the heaviest punishment of the tribe, he knew from Gisheline (Rudi would have been killed in the end if he had not been released from prison) so he did what he could. get to the same cell. After meeting Rudi, he realized that he was Paul's son, so he wanted to make sure he got to him. And now Gisse is leaving for the smallest continent where no man in Paul's family could go alone to a continent where succubus live.

I still love the math. Paul is 30. Rudy is 11. So... yes, Paul became a father at 19, which is young but not terribly so. However... this means that Paul also *retired from an adventuring career* at age 18, and pretty well off to boot, while also having attained advanced rank in all of the sword styles. Not to mention, was enough of a horndog while still a teenager for his companions to refer to him as "scum" a decade later.

it's amazing how much can be conveyed with only visuals and the Opening-song. what little was omitted was that in order to get back home after the displacement-incident he took an emergency-mission at the local guild for´a delivery so he could get a free horse, despite the risk of losing his license since he didn't plan on returning the horse, much less actually fulfill the mission itself. It also took him 2 months to get back to where Buena Village was before the incident. the old man in the suit he saw was actually one of the butlers at the Boreas Manor, and was managing a refugee-camp. Oh, and another kind of important part that was left out was that in the LN, Geese explained to Paul that he had actually been roaming around the Great Forest for a while, heard of a kid getting locked up by the doldia and used his connections to get himself tossed into rudy's jail. the part about being locked up for gambling was total fabrication. Rudy also talked a lot more about his time in Roa as Eris' tutor, at which Paul notes that Philipp sent him a letter telling Paul he intended for Rudy and Eris to marry, even before Philipp talked with Rudy about "tying up eris in your bedroom" on his 10th birthday :D

The novel goes into detail that no one else in the old adventuring party actually knew how to read maps, gather information, survival skills, etc. Geese is the only one in the group who isn't really a swordmaster or magic user but instead the one who actually has the mundane skills to be an adventurer.

Many a anime have been called "Game of Thrones: the anime" but Mushoku Tensei is most fitting for that title, given how complex its characters are and how everybody is living their own lives, not just constently spinning around MC, who also is not overly overpowered like most protagonists- being killable by pretty much everyone, and having plenty of underdeveloped sides both in skills and personality, his greatest powersource being his friends and family who teach him in various ways. Only differencee being much lower kill count- G.R.R.Martin wouldve probably killed at least twice as many characters.

The reason why that girl was only wearing a bikini is for men to look at her. During the teleportation incident her and her sister were teleported in a place full of bandits. They were used as playthings but because of Paul they were saved. The bikini girl was able to put it all behind her but not her sister. Her sister would get ptsd just from men looking at her and that’s why her eyes are covered. The bikini girl made sure that men would look at her and not her sister. Paul didnt touch any women after the teleportation incident because he didnt have the time to mess around and instead of sleeping with other women he just lost himself when drinking. Thats why Paul got so mad when Rudy assumed he was sleeping with bikini girl.

@@EtherSword it wasn’t explained in the anime but the reason why he was so mad was because he thought Rudy was gonna get married. Before the incident occurred, on the day of Rudeus’ 10th birthday, Philip Boreas Greyrat the father of Eris sent out a letter to Rudy’s family stating that Rudy was to get married to Eris. He did this without Rudy knowing because he really wanted to use Rudy for political reasons in order to stage a coup and make him take control over the Notos Greyrats. In Paul’s head at episode 16, he was thinking that instead of protecting his family Rudy was protecting his new family which is Eris. He thought that Rudy didnt care about them anymore considering that their family wasn’t as rich as the Boreas Greyrats.

Who is right:Paul Who is wrong:neither Why i said paul is right, we need to remember that Rudy is 40yo, Paul expecting Rudy too much because they relationship is like a drink friend, and Paul know that Rudy is not ordinary kid. Rudy at least should searching information about his family, but he just playing around when he can get out from the prison since day 1 with his magic(i know that not his fault because he dont know anything about the tragedy) , still Rudy cant read the situation when talking to his father, maybey because he is neet iam side with Paul in this moment, Rudy also said that Paul is more matured than him because he can take responbility. Also to asking forgivness from Rudy meanwhile Rudy cant when he misunderasting his friend, Paul also never sleep with any girls since that Incident with his maid,and after this episode they both have father and son relationship this also add character development for Rudy and also Paul, Sorry my grammar too

Man, Rudy is a 40 yr old man in a child's body not a genius person. Any person in his shoes will be having a hard time deducting that his village has been affected. Why? Because he is in the epicenter of the incident. He only thought ghislaine and eris were teleported. Unlike paul, he is in the buena village so he already knows that it is massive. Not to mention, his situation. The anime only shows mostly his adventure about being fun, but it didnt show how much rudy suffered in his journey even tho he's with ruijerd. Geese already told what it is all about the demon continent. Geese also mention that rudy was narrating his journey on a positive note so that his father will not worry cause he saw paul's complexion thinking he was worried because rudy is missing. Plus, the fact that paul's letter only reach to zant port means that his letter doesnt reach to demon continent yet at that point and it takes so much time for that to happen. The TP incident is pretty much known in the central continent but not in the demon continent. Btw, Zant port is where rudy goes straight to ruijerd to save him and kidnapped on his first day so he didnt see paul's letter. Paul was in the wrong the moment he blamed rudy for everything. Rudy on the other hand is doing a great job on going back to his homeland.

Rudy is wrong with how he handle the situation and his lack of spatial awareness, paul is wrong for his anger issues... Rudy is right with protecting eris and going back to his homeland, Paul is right for expecting rudeus to do good... We can see both perspective as to how they both act... It's not justifiable, but we can see why they act like that... Both are right and wrong simultaneously... That's that, nothing more... It's not about right or wrong anyway it's about the situation and how it happened and how it fix itself XD
