I drove home one day and saw a rabbit that got hit by a car and it’s back legs were wrecked. I pulled over put him out of his misery and took him home and buried him. That’s the right thing to do, not let a animal suffer until it passes from its injuries. 😢

Yeah. The two moral options really are bring it to a vet so it can be saved and recover, or if it's clearly not going to make it, make sure it's painless. Got to be careful with the last one though, because you have to make sure they really wouldn't make it. There's always the possibility a vet can save them and so on and even if disabled they can live happy lives in rescue centres and sanctuaries. I imagine the poor Rabbit you are talking about sadly wasn't saveable?

@@TheTykeyes sir, it was not a pretty sight. I absolutely thought “could I save it” but it was not a pleasant situation and I grew up in a rural area and value and cherish all life. I literally stop and yell at wild animals that cross the road slowly….with love ❤❤

A dog or raccon or coyote or something like that, you just hit it, you don't risk your life or the life of others stopping or swerving to avoid it. And in the wild the animals will take care of it, no sense in depriving them of a meal, just to what, give it a christian burial, are you mad

We just put out food for the raccoons every night. They'll get tamed down enough to eat it out of a bowl while we hold it and they'll come scratch on the living room window if they're hungry.
