I grew up a Notre Dame fan in the same town as the real Rudi. Grew up much the same way and went to the same high school. He was 2 years ahead of me, but i remember him well. The movie takes quite a few "liberties", but i still love it. Every time i watch it, it never ceases to be emotional for me.

I love how his first practice is all beat ups with the song in the background! I personally think that this is the funniest moments in the movie. This movie's so inspirational and is my favorite movie.

Roman Catholic here but yeah. "Hail to The Victors," is awesome but "Wake Up the Echoes," is on another level. Quick story, David Anspaugh when approached to direct "Rudy," after his stirring effort in "Hoosiers," (1986) initially turned down the movie. His reason? "I hate Notre Dame." : ))

Diehard Sooner fan who attended the most recent home and home between Oklahoma and Notre Dame. That’s a big one marked off the sports bucket list. Two Saturdays in 2012 and 2013 that just oozed college football tradition. I had to swat away the numerous goosebump moments from my face. What though the odds be great or small Old Notre Dame will win over all! Send a volley cheer on high, Shake down the thunder from the sky. God bless America and it’s amazing sports history.

While not on the same level as D1 College Football...this scene reminds me of my time as freshman in high school..early 80s making the varsity squad...every day at practice, on scrub D playing cornerback, letting the starting offense run their plays against us....all upper classmen...I hated to see that one play in particular, Fullhouse 61 Sweep Left...two pulling guards, one lead fullback and another halfback blocking on the perimeter for the ball carrier...ugh....went home with a headache most every day!!!
