Great video. Exactly what I needed. My pump was slightly different but I figured it out. Good point about making sure you remember the direction and careful disassembly.

I have the stock pump (not a JLT) and was able to fix it with the help of this video. I accidentally broke the inlet elbow fitting on the pump, where the hose attaches, when I was trying to remove those clamps from hell. I went to Ace hardware and found a brass elbow fitting that fit perfect. It was even the same size on the end where the hose connects. I went ahead and replaced both fittings ($14) just incase the other was comprimised during the removal of the clamp process. All is working well. Thank you for making this video! I thought once the pump doesn't work you are forced to buy the $100 replacement one. My X3 is up and running again!!

I took advantage of this weakness. Got the Rug Dr. Pro X3 for free, $90 for updated pump. Made it pretty cheap for me! 30 minutes later it was fixed!

I was wondering how the pump worked, thank you for this video. It takes forever to remove the pump from a Rug Doctor ( you have to take the whole machine apart) then you have to disassemble the pump. We have VERY hard water here so I guess this will be a yearly thing. ( Just read your reply about vinegar, I need to remember that.... great video by the way. )

Hi Justin and everyone. I got a rugdoctor mightypro X3 model MP-C3 and it's not working with the small white switch, with the rubber cover, thats permanently stuck pressed down on tthe on position, I think it's the rest switch, my test metre beeps when I touch the terminals/pins so I think it works but could has that problem whereby it will not go to the off position, I hope that makes sense and is it a familiar problem that you know of please. Great video learned a lot thankyou.

I gotta tell you. Rugdoctor is pissing me off. Why should we have to do anything to this machine? I am so pissed. If I wanted to be a technician, I would have applied. I just am so pissed. I pay for it now I have to work on it...make ma so angry. I just bought this. Long fingernails now I am some kind of mechanic. For all the money we paid for it...wtf should we have to work on it. I am pissed! Rug doctor needs to get it together. Lots of money going out for your cheap running parts. OH hell no!

Best solution: Toss the pump altogether and go buy an ULKA 53W almost identical brand new pump for 1/3 the price and 3X BETTER than this Asian junk.
