I've had mine in the same caliber for a few weeks. Being a lefty myself we have to adapt and overcome in a right handed rifle world. I live this bolt rifle and still working on breaking it in. Thanks for your video sir.

No, sir! Thank you! I favor the Ruger Ranch in 7.62x39 more than my CZ carbine in the same caliber, although the CZ is a lot better looking. I also have a Windham Weaponry (American Rifle style 15😁) that I also like, and will be doing a review of it sometime in the future, but a good bolt gun is hard to beat. Again, thanks for watching.

I got this and an aftermarket AK mag weld adapter kit because I didn't want invest in an AK or sks platform. I couldn't be happier and would take over an sks any day. It shoots flatter, longer distance, more accurate and easy mount optics or silencer than a AK or sks ever could

Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comment. I just enjoy the caliber and also have it in AR, SKS, and AK platforms. However, a good bolt gun is hard to beat for all around shooting.

Great video. Your narrative is very well and professionally done. Very impressive. However, if I may add, the 7.62x39mm cartridge was invented in 1943 and first went into production in 1944

Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. AYup! The 7.62x39mm cartridge was invented in 1943 and was eventually designated as the M43. I favor the 7.62x39mm over the .30-.30 and .300 Blackout. The 7.62x39mm has an interesting history.

I have enjoyed my rifle and I went with the low mounts and shortened the stock to make it fit me better. After shooting a hundred rounds and lots of dry firing practice the trigger and bolt smoothed up and it now feels broken in and smooth. I really have no complaints about the rifle and like shooting it, it goes with me often and goes to the range every time.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I have just replaced the scope mounts with low Warne permanent mounts, since I was running out of elevation adjustment at the lower end. I am hoping that by lowering the rings all will be fine, as I would like to keep the 3-12x40 scope. Otherwise, I may have to resort back to the 2-7x32 scope that was previously mounted.

Was interested in the video, but, that lead in killed it for me.

Well, by gosh and by golly! Was it the music? The imaging? Had you forced your way through the lead-in, you would have discovered a pretty well put together video review of an excellent firearm. It's unfortunate that you elected to judge a book only by its cover. This was one of my early video reviews and not as refined as my later attempts. I have learned that I can't please everybody. Thanks for attempting to watch, anyway. Have a great day, sir!

Thanks for watching and subscribing. I also have the Ruger "Scout" rifle in .308, but this one is so much more pleasurable to shoot; A bolt-gun with mild recoil and a good mid-range cartridge is hard to beat.

I want to get a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9×50 1-inch tube Riflescope for my American Ruger Ranch Rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. What height scope rings would work best? Low or medium?
@RangeRoninChronicles
@RangeRoninChronicles Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the question. That 50mm objective lens will determine the scope ring height. For a scope with a 50mm objective lens, and with a 1" diameter tube, the scope ring height needs to be a minimum of 0.270-inch. Obviously, this is not going to be a low set of rings. According to the Warne scope ring website, a "high" set of rings will accommodate a 52mm objective lens. Scope ring heights, types, etc. can vary by manufacturer, but this should give you a point of which to start your search. I would also include the scope mount (rail) height into the equation. I have, over the years, amassed quite a collection of scope rings and mounts. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for watching. I am experimenting with the scope setup. With the current setup, I run out of elevation at 25-yards. I'll be going with higher rings or a different scope. There will probably be a Part 2 at some point.

They make a Left hand bolt

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I have not seen a left-handed bolt version of this one on the Ruger website. That's not saying that one is not made, only that I have not seen one. Personally, and since I am right-dominant but shoot long-guns left-handed, I prefer the bolt on the right side since my strong hand works the bolt and magazine catch and release lever. I give the left hand something to do when the safety needs to be operated.

3 inch 25yds?

Thanks for watching and commenting. The Ruger American Ranch is not a precision rifle and I just did my best to wring out what I could with what I had on the day I was shooting it. The bi-pod, which kept collapsing on me under fire, did not help. That has since been replaced and I have a review of the new one coming out soon. Let's put that 3-inches into perspective. Depending on what is being aimed at, 8-inches is considered a kill zone. At 100 yards, the AK 47 was considered as a "Belly" gun with open sights; you aimed for the belly to hit a critical area in the chest. That is the round itself, the 7.63x39mm, which I favor over the .300 Blackout due to it's flatter trajectory and more oomph at the target. While I wanted all rounds to impact in the same hole, I'll take 3-inches given the conditions that day. I have yet to get back to the outdoor range to see if I can better that. Also consider that on a deer-size target, and with a POA where it should be, 8-inches will take out any vital organ it hits. The 7.62x39mm has taken many a deer when hunters used their SKS rifle in lieu of the .30-.30 Winchester round - and that with surplus ammunition. I also have an AR chambered in 7.62x39mm that I will be running and reviewing at some point in time. Have a great Easter!
