Molded, one-piece chassis and adjustable buttstock assembly are manufactured with glass-filled nylon for strength, stiffness and stability, making a solid foundation for accuracy each and every shot. Adjustable buttstock features a flat Picatinny bag rider making it easy to affix a rear monopod. A molded-in window provides a tether point for your squeeze bag, and a metal QD pocket makes it easy to secure a sling.
Quick-Fit adjustable Precision Rimfire stock allows length of pull and comb height to be quickly and easily adjusted to get proper fit over a wide range of shooter sizes, outerwear and shooting positions. Indicating marks molded into the chassis help you quickly return to a previous position.
Big-Gun bolt throw adjustment enables shooters to change from a rimfire 1-1/2" bolt throw to a short-action centerfire 3" bolt throw, reducing the chance of short-stroking your bolt in competition.
Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger is externally adjustable, with a trigger pull range of 2.25 to 5 pounds; wrench is stored in a buttstock compartment.
Ruger's own AR-Pattern pistol grip and safety selector provides an extended reach for maximum control and access to the 45°, reversible safety selector. May be configured with most AR-style grips and selectors.
Anodized Picatinny scope base includes 30 MOA elevation for increased long-range capabilities out of the box.
Oversized bolt handle for positive bolt manipulation (same as the Ruger Precision® Rifle).
15" aluminum free-float handguard is black hard-coat anodized aluminum and features Magpul® M-LOK® slots on all four sides for improved scope clearance for long-range scopes and easy mounting of M-LOK-compatible rails and accessories.
Target barrel is cold hammer-forged from 1137 alloy steel to create ultra precise rifling for excellent accuracy. Barrel can be replaced easily by a competent gunsmith using AR-style wrenches and headspace gauges.
1/2"-28 threaded barrel for standard muzzle accessories, like the Silent-SR® suppressor, comes with a factory-installed thread protector covering both the threads and crown.
Accepts all 10/22® magazines.
Also includes: one, 15-round BX-15® magazine.

I have a the same rifle in 22 WMR. I can easily hit a golf ball 5 times in a row at 100 yards.WMR travels around 2200 FPS depending on the type of ammo you buy. 22LR travels around 1300 FPS. If you buy, and I recommend you do as you will love it, buy the 22 WMR version. At 210 Yards I can hit a small orange about 50% of the time. The guys at the range I go to are always amazed how accurate this gun has been. You will be happy.Tip: Don't skimp on the optics!

Say there....nice vid. For a view point....mine was shooting crap patterns on the first outing also. Bolt was stiff and ruff, thought I got a lemon. Took it all apart and really cleaned up everything. Bore, trigger, bolt, worked bolt in action greased up for about 30 minutes. Silver taped up all the inside spaces. (See Elfsters technique). Mine was made in 2019 sometime in the summer so mine has been improved over the public beta test group (so sad). Here's the good news. After at least 1000 rounds of a slew of ammos, it has become an absolute clover leaf shooter at 50. Bolt has smoothed up considerably. Did the spring remove mod & trigger is now at 1 pound. Added the "atlas" clone bipod stuff. A nice magpul strap (QD). I agree with the weight being a bit heavey for woods or stalking around. All my negatives were slowly abandon. It took about a month of shooting everyday to bring mine up to par to my total happiness. Now.... OH MY....she is the go to fun gun...... oh yea..... :-)

After half a year of using this rifle I'd like to admit such things. The bolt sutface has to be polished immidiately after purchase. From the factory it comes very rough. The rifle out of the box is extremelly accurate at the distances up to 75 meters almost with any subsonic cartridge. The best groups from my exprience was with CCI Standard Velocity bullets and SK Standard Plus. For bigger distatances it worth to spend time for experiments with other cartriges to find proper one for your particular rifle. For mine I finally have choosen SK Long Range

I just got my RPR yesterday. I had a list of things to check because of the internet. Either mine was built on a Wednesday or Ruger has been seeing all the comments on these guns and made corrections. #1 is the machining on my bolt. I was prepared to polish it and saw machining marks on many posts in here. The bottom of my bolt is smooth and basically all around the bolt needs no gunsmithing or polishing. The end of the bolt had bad machining which was causing ejection problems that other posters repaired. Mine didnt have any of those problems. I also took off the rear band for a full cycle action. Other posters said you couldnt slow cycle because it wouldnt eject so therefore they powered it back and the dent in the rear ring reared its head to them. Feeding is magazine related in that gun. Poor fit of the magazine latch block is non existent and bedding at this time is not needed and I dont have feeding issues. If I did have bullet shaving going on, I would bed the bottom of that block with aluminum tape and lift the magazine a little bit. People also talked about screws on their bipods hitting the barrel and having to cut them off. The free floating hand guard is not a positive aligned piece. There is fudge there so if its not centered, the bolts will hit. Mine didnt have a problem. I have not shot this yet but I foresee no problems as far as gun quality. I mail ordered mine and maybe I was lucky. If you are worried about problems, buy one from a gun shop. You will pay more but at least you can inspect a lot of it before you buy.

@@oobairbrushguy I watched a video, yesterday, about peoples bullets getting nicked and how he fixed it. My bullets werent getting nicked but his fix was to smooth the edges of the bolt that were in direct contact with picking up the bullet. I did notice that mine were a little sharp but again not hitting but I took a ceramic stone and smoothed the edges which took about 10 minutes because I did every edge on the bolt. Ounce of prevention is a pound of cure and that little bit actually made my bolt cycle smoother, not that it was rough. By the way it shot really good 1/2" at 50 but my plan was to get a 20" barrel from the very beginning so it wasnt so ammo particular. I just ordered a Shaw today.

I enjoyed watching your video on the RPR 22 long rifle, I have a couple of questions for you, since the base that comes on the rifle is already 30 MOA, can you tell me what would be a good could one piece scope mount that has no MOA to use, the one I was going to use is 20 MOA, so if you have the 2 together you would have 50 MOA, if I did use that one scope Mount that has 110 MOA elevation adjustment, is that enough for 50 yards?

How well did you clean the barrel before the first time you shot it? Mine was filthy- like 50 patches filthy. Also, maybe the clip was getting bent if you were too rough on the bolt? @@Digidestined_Keyblader so the Vector is better at certain things when the vortex is better at other things. The Vector 5-30x only has 40 MOA of adjustment, (that not much) the vortex Diamondback has 65, the vortex has better glass (ED) the Vector has some really good standard glass. the vortex has a very tight eyebox (thats not great) the vector has a far more forgiving eyebox. between the two specific models i would go with the Vortex diamondback for those reason as far as overall quality they are both made quite well it comes down to those aspects and amount of internal adjustment is a very bid deal as well as glass quality.

I have seen a video where the bolt closes different every shot and causing a lot of bullets to not hit the mark…. Sucks bc I really wanted this one for squirrels but not with the bolt moving around every shot. Dry fire and u can see it move the bolt up in a funky way

Is the better one the 17hmr, 22wmr or 22lr? Im trying to buy within next couple of days
@EpikArms
@EpikArms 3 жыл бұрын
I coudnt advise younon that, balistically both the 17hmr and the 22wmr are better than the standard 22lr . But the 22lr has more bullet options and you can compete in nrl22 competitions

The Very Best ammo for my RPR IS RWS rifle match professional line +++ (yellow box) or the RWS Target rifle sport line +++ (orange box) at 100 yards you can place bullet on top of bullet except for a few flyers. (The + Is the stars on the box depicting superiority, but no style on my keyboard) I settled for the professional line because the sport line was half a clicked out in comparison that’s 100 yards.

Good video and comments on this rifle. I bought mine two years ago and I am very pleased with it's performance. Mine seems to love the CCI standard velocity which is very inexpensive although things have gone crazy with the Coronavirus and prices are up. I have been toying with the idea of purchasing the 22wmr version and most likely I'll pull the trigger soon and get me one. Yes, it is heavy but this is a rifle designed to be shot mainly with a bipod or any type of rest to maximize accuracy. I bought mine for $360 and for the price, Ruger has done a great job in putting a package for the budget shooter.

Love this gun,but you do have to address a few things but ruger had a epic fail on the hand grip bolt threads they are just tapped into the plastic and strip out very easily there should have been a metal insert,also try butler creek mags they fit very tight and could help with accuracy

Try different ammo, mine likes 1200-1450 FPS rounds, you have to try different brands and speeds till you find the one that the rifle likes best.

My CZ 457 MTR out shoots every RPR in our club. If you want to get an RPR to shoot you have to invest too much money. Out of the box, the Ruger Precision Rimfire is not a good rifle. We had two of them were the barrel was not correctly fitted.
