It will always difficult to say. Rui Costa's posture in football was quite abnormal in comparison with other players. We are talking about 2 genius of the beautiful game, but Rui Costa sacrificed a lot of it's career for Benfica. During the times in Florentina and Juventus, Rui Costa won many times the maestro title - the best 10. Zidane was a late player - he only shown his true potencial in the World Cup 98. So during their times in the same League Costa was better, but after 28 y.o. maybe Zidane was best. But now, Rui Costa as president, in his first year, he brought a new vision for SLB football and 2022-3 session brought Benfica back to Europe, with great performances and won the Portuguese League. With an intense attacking footback, Benfica's stadium had a record of assistance. All the Cups were lost in penalties or goals. So, for a first year, Rui and Roger Shidmt pull off a great session. Rui Costa is a true legend of Benfica. One of those impossible to create.

well this is what you get when foreigners try to tell stories of players they don´t know...Benfica didn´t ruined Rui Costa life ever (he is our president by the way). He has more character and spine than whoever did this lousy video. His love for the the club where he started and his loyalty in all the phases of his career is something that most of the mercenary players of this generation lack...It´s true that his nickname in Friorentina was "La luce" but before that and after that he was always know for "O Maestro" in Portugal and "Il Maestro" in Milan because of the way he conducted the plays of his team...

To be honest they are different players I am Portuguese but I must say zidane was way better than Rui Costa technical and sytle. Sorry I cannot say he was better than zidane but if compare to Luis figo I would say Luis figo better than zidane
