I stumbled across this brand while visiting Rivers Edge Cutlery (Local Knife Store) and decided to try them out. This is the largest of the folders they offer, and I think a lot of people that want a nice folder at a reasonable price are going to like them.

The budget Chinese knives like Ruike, Two Sun, Harnds, Senranmu, are great quality. They're often the are the OEM for the high-end brands like Spyderco (their budget knives), ZT/Kershaw, WE/Civivi, Bestech etc. So it's no surprise their own line of knives are really awesome values & good looking Knafs.

I you know what’s a fun flipper and drop shit action is an eafengrow ef335 for $30 or ganzo neformat 👍👍. Of all the civivis , kershaws , kizers , kubeys , etc. those two mentioned , each around $30 on Amazon flip work well and have never made my thumb or finger sore like many other knives . I think lots of people just like to flip knives while hanging on the couch and thought I should mention . The kubey Wolverine also flips wonderful . I also like the 14 c after sharpening a p108 there’s a clear difference in how sharp I personally could get it with a $7 ceramic rod .

The blackwash version arrived to day. It's a nice enough knife. But I'll add these qualifiers. The handle is too slick to use it as a tactical blade (i.e. carry it for self-defense). Even with a lanyard, if you didn't have everything perfect or it was wet, easily dropped. Secondly, it's a lot like a ZT 0095. I prefer the blade design on the Ruike. You don't have to pay through the nose for titanium scales and the ideal steel; I went back and forth a lot about getting the ZT. Now I'm glad I got the Ruike instead. Scratches the itch for that kind of design. Saves about $150+.

Ok... Chris I really like this one. I may even buy one if I can find it on the Internet. You see you do not have to spend you house payment or food budget on a knife to get a good one. lol You may have to shop around but they are there. For that tow strap you really need a serrated edge. For chuckles try it with a serrated edge. They were really designed for stuff like that. BTW: There is nothing wrong with a "gear" channel. Unfortunately a lot of channels are becoming just that because of economics and a lack of knowledge and skill. If you live in an area that is disaster prone like Florida or Yellowstone you better know how to prepare and be ready. But even then we need to know what products are out there. Thus a good gear channel. Your reviews are good but I for one would like to see you do more field testing. (Not in the backyard or local park.) Head off into the hills and give the gear a good test. You might surprise yourself. Maybe that is not your cup of tea but add someone to your team who will do it for you. I bet there are sources that would even sponser such an expedition. When we lived in Trier Germany I used to take my five kids on a bicycle outing almost every Saturday. We would cycle from Trier to the Luxemburg boarder about 25km (one way) and back. Fixing our meals along the way gave us a good chance to test our equipment and teach the kids. A few times we even camped out overnight. You could make a mini vacation out of testing your gear. We hiked the old Roman roads and even climbed the Zugspitze (mountain in Switzerland ). All the time I was testing new gear. In the event of a real disaster we would know how our gear preformed. Another idea is to give the piece of gear to your kids and see if it survives them... well unless they are just indoor kids like most kids today they will be rough with in ways you can't imagine. My wife had never been camping until after we married. She learned to like it even though she got bit by a brown recluse spider our first time camping in the USA. 😐 Introducing your family to nature could be fun (or not). Once for fun my dog and I walked from Hamilton Ohio to my sister's farm near Georgetown Kentucky to see if my bug out kit would work. It took about three weeks. We encountered a couple thunderstorms, thugs in downtown Cincinnati - luckily my dog scared them off - racoons tried to rob us - once we had to camp behind a dumpster to hide from the cops.... well, it was an adventure. But my bug out kit got me there. Another time my dog and I made a journey on foot from Loveland Ohio to Flagstaff AZ along old Route 66 using the same kit. I even spent a month down in the Grand Canyon. But that is a really long story. So if you really want to know your gear test it. I mean really test it. I enjoyed these adventures but my dog probably not so much. lol HOWEVER, if you give your kids a knife to test you might want to give them a box of bandaids too. ☺ Sorry, as you know I tend to ramble.... just some thoughts... later....

*Sigh* Again with this. It creates more problems than it solves. Physics does not change on an "expedition". It just doesn't. When you start doing that stuff (If you even can) that's when people start to either expect you to be a survival expert or think you are trying to be. I camp a few times a month. I am knowledgeable about products and good at analysis. I've been at this for over 4 years now. IN THE FIELD is NOT the place to TEST things! IN THE FIELD is where you take the stuff that has been testED!! People don't think, they just want to watch an adventure show. I'm not going to play into that nonsense. My track record for accuracy is pretty damn good without having to take gear to Vancouver Island to test it. And it's not like I never do.
@levicaddell1077
@levicaddell1077 6 жыл бұрын
PREPAREDMIND101 Hummm... I am not sure how my experience and opinion creates more problems. But, honestly Chris playing with something in your back yard does not show how durable something is... How something performs in your backyard could and often will be very different than in the field. Yes, play with stuff in your back yard to get used to it but test it in the field. Do you not realize the power of your Internet presence? Some rookie is going to listen to what you say and then head off with it. If it fails it will be on your shoulders. Mostly you review flashlights and knives. You can live without a flashlight. If it fails no big deal. If a knife fails? Well only a fool would head off on a trip with just one knife. But how can you endorse something like your sleeping mat when you have only slept on it a couple of times. You like to play with things and you have very good video work but that does not make you an expert. When Dave Canterbury endorses something I know I can trust it because he has been using it in the field for over a year. Look at the stuff he endorses .... it is not shinny new right out of the box. The same is true of guys like Blackie from Shaman's Forge or William Collins of WC Knives. They are true woodsmen who have spent a whole lot of time in the woods. Or look at those guys and gals who have the Application or Pacific Coast Trails. When they endorse something it means something. They really know what works and what does not work. And, I could go on and on but the fact is that because of your Internet presence people - especially newbies and younger people - perceive you to be an expert on these things. That is what concerns me. A $300 shinny new knife does not make you a better woodsman or mean you can depend on that knife. Now when you show us a well used knife that shows wear and tear on it that means you have tested it and know what it can do. The cost of an item is not that important if you know you can depend on it. It is great that you introduce us to new things but really get out there and test them or have someone do it for you. OR refer us to someone who has really tested it. Otherwise your Jessica list is just a joke about pretty things. Maybe none of this means anything to you because you are just trying to make money doing it. But I really think you are better than that . Look at Dave Canterbury and others who have built a huge business and now travel all over the world because their opinion really means something. Why? Because they have field expierence... not backyard only expierence. Just saying.... and I am sure a lot agree with me.

why do u think hes always sending things around or tacs way to shoot it and bash it threw trees? he does outsource to others for harder testing when he has not done it himself. lol this channel has morphed into gear reviews hes good at it people like them not much more to it than that if u want to find videos of people hard using the crap out of knives almost always there is someone else who has done it on youtube... you just typed two small essays on how you think what hes doing is wrong all because he made a simple video saying this knife is well made and inexpensive and he likes it.. hell u even went as far as to bring serrations of all ungodly things into it sharpen ur knife u do not need them. also its a folder not a survival knife... 10/10 way to get people triggered talk about serrations to anyone who can sharpen something. sure if a knife is only for cutting seatbelts aka ur a paramedic/ fireman u should have a serrated knife other then that why would anyone... try cutting up ur lunch with a serrated endura then try it with a plain edge... try making a fire stick or bow drill set i wonder what will work better.. if his opinion is not good enough for you why are you here lol.. anyone who would buy a knife after watching a single video and take it to survive in the wild without first testing its quality at home should not be in the wilderness. i have bought lots of knives off his and others reviews never once off just a single review nor did i take it as my only knife into the mountains where my life might depend on it. been watching his videos since he started the channel when i was a kid and i still had the common sense to not do that. u cant fix stupid if someone dies because they are not prepared its not his fault. your acting like they are his kids or some shit its not his responsibility to teach them common sense... does he have a review on bear spray? bear bangers? because where i go u need it. do not need him to tell me that though. even if a knife is from a very good maker it could always have some hidden 1 in 20000 flaw that needs to be found before your life depends on it so that great maker can replace it for free. and the thing about those 300 knives they are 300 because the reputation of quality and quality customer satisfaction/ service that they carry. has this helped you figure out the problems that arise from your essay opinionated comments yet? have a good day lol essay rant over.

natsyrt m First let me say I have no idea of who you are nor do you know who I am. Judging from your English you are not from this area. I too have been following Chris for many years and I highly respected him as a person. We may not always agree but that is OK . If you understood my comments you would notice that I complimented him highly on what he does. I am just encouraging him to do more. I am also encouraging others to look for deeper opinions by more experienced people before they trust their gear. I am often asked to review gear that I have purchased online. I will not unless I have used that item for at least a year. These out of the box reviews are almost meaningless, yet people base decisions on them. All you get is to look at the item. Chris and I come from very different backgrounds so naturally our opinions will be different. We may disagree at times but I do respect him and I believe he respects me. I would love to meet up with him sometime - maybe go camping gear together. I am sure we would have a great time even though our kits would look very different. After all we are brothers at arms. He is Navy and I am Army. That leaves us with a bond that many will not understand. If I did not like him or what he does I would not comment or even watch . I hope I did not offend you with my comment about your English. It was not a criticism but mealy an observation. I spent a good portion of my life in Europe and although fluent in several languages I am sure my written form would be less than perfect. Keep in mind that although I may criticize Chris he has my blessing in what he does.

Don't understand the hate in these comments. Do you go to a supermarket and shout at the manager because you don't like the stock? It's supply and demand. If it doesn't supply what you demand, go to a different channel. No need to spread negativity because you don't have it tailored. I purchased the P108 flipper last month. I was very disappointed with the design. Any small piece of pocket lint stops it locking up. The tip doesn't bury much in the closed position and can cut you quite easily even though there is only a small part of the tip exposed. The problems with the P108 are so apparent, that it should have never went to market. The P128 looks much better, but after the P108 I will never buy another ruike product.

I do what is fun and what people actually WATCH. Too much of preparedness is fear based. Along the way I became a knife guy. People can watch or not watch. Free country. I do have a new pocket water filter with promising specs to do, and the Canadian Prepper bug out roll coming up. In the last month, there's been a lot going on behind the scenes, so the easy stuff gets the preference. I keep asking the audience, and it is overwhelmingly in favor of what I've been doing.
