After using this knife for a while now. I love everything about it. The thicknesses really fills the hand for a small knife. And front flippers are just fun.

Nah. That's not so bad. I don't care for the front flipper part, but the weight and fatness are fine on my end. You see, I'm kind of a chubby chaser. We live in a world full of lightweights. Ruike even makes some. But sometimes, you want a small knife that has some big-girl heft. And her stock can be thick as long as she can still be tiny behind the edge. Okay, that last sentence was a stretch. 36-24-36....Ha! Only if she's 5'3" Okay. So yeah. I think I'm a bit overtired right now.

If they would make all the changes you've mentioned (bigger, thinner, no front flipper), then it would simply look like a whole bunch of other knives (Ganzo G753M1 comes to my mind for example). Even though this one might not be to everyone's taste, at least it's what makes it unique.

Most knife companies get on our radar when they hit a home run right out of the park. I'm thinking of knives like the Ontario Rat, but there are a lot of others, including some of Ruike's original line up. These knives have great features, ergonomics, practicality, functionality and eye appeal. They have better quality an materials than other knives in their price point and they just happen to hit a popular price point. Then every year the company releases a new batch of knives, I mean they have to release something new and different, but usually the new knives aren't the best bang for the buck, they aren't quite as functional or durable, they aren't trend setting, they aren't nearly as good as their predecessors, but they are different, have different features, they will cut and hopefully they appeal to somebody. Knife collections are full of rare knives, which are rare mainly because no one bought them when they were out competing in the open market. The really good knives aren't collectible because just about everybody is wearing one and they have been on sale for years or even decades.

I almost really like this. I agree with everything you said about the critiques. I'd even add, take off the left thumb stud! This is already not left friendly at all, unless you like to middle finger flick why keep that other stud there? Also I am totally fine with the blade thickness, and I wish that metal backspacer went down just a tiny bit past the handle to make for a nice window breaker/impact weapon.

Decent little knife, but the handle is pretty uncomfortable. Would be a lot better with some contouring on the scales. Also the finger guard thing is annoying. Easily moddable issues though

II might have been buying a little too many "budget" high value knives. I'm starting to see chunks of some knives end up in other knives verbatum. I'm having strong deja vu here, of me commenting on one of your older video's about so and so knife having the thumbstud of knife b, the bladeshape of knive c, and pocketclip style of knife c. I'm not gonna re- Realsteel H6 G10 thumbstud -peat myself. tldr; You're right, and I retract my earlier comment about Ruike not having made a bad knife yet. They just did. It's not just finding the application for the knife, it's all the parts working together, and here, they're just not. Thanks for sharing dude!

Such a Nice design and I don’t even mind the front flipper especially since it also has studs but what kills it for me is the thickness it’s unnecessary for what I actually cut with my knifes

I have one on the way. I didnt know this knife existed. I like a small chubby knife. I like the big thumb studs. I like it for the reasons many do not for being a hefty fat boy. Also great review

Once in awhile, robust as hell is kind of artsy I suppose. Ganzo kind of runs on that theme quite often. But it's not going to be the daily beast I choose to carry to go run errands, etc. Looks to be well made though, for the right handed folks.

Love the size, the blade shape and grind. Needs to be lighter and a regular flipper this would be a hit.

Someone paying artistic homage to the Ontario RAT II ? Agree on that flipper, I might consider a dremel LOL. Disagree on the spine of the handle tho. I like how the handle has an angle on the first half and splits into the angle of the steel and the angle of the carbon. Maybe I'll just stick with my Ruike P121 (Hussar ???). In my rotation for a couple of years now 😁⚔

I don't see a bit of resemblance to the Rat2. Other than they both have a sharp side of the blade.....

Agree w every criticism except for thinning out the blade stock; I want a thick blade cuz, as I've said before; a folder is a TOOL , I dont want a blade wimping out on me. I would buy this knife absolutely if it was around $25. I really do luv the durability n quality of Ruike knives.

Some of the knives you are comparing it to have much thinner liners to begin with and the bug out I don't think has full liners. I like the look of this knife so much I can ignore the fat little handle.

Wish they would update this design. Maybe stretch it out about an inch longer, full G10--including backspacer--and skeletonized liners. They get that version at 3.5 ounces and it'll fly (off shelves).

your points are valid yet redundant, you do not see the knife as it was designed, its a budget designer knife, front flippers are a fashion knife mechanism, its showmanship, look at front flippers, there all designer high end gentleman's knives

The lockbar is super flimsy and has major lock-rock because of it. Also whats with the awful squeaking sound from the detent ball rubbing against the tang?
@ArenaAccessories
@ArenaAccessories 5 жыл бұрын
I find the front flipper thing to be useless, but the thumb stud opens it perfectly... the detent is strong, but not too strong. The looks of this knife are great, but I totally wish there was a regular flipper tab on it instead.

I hear you... But Im buying one anyway. I so tried of wasting money on s#!t knives that might look great, but cant hold an edge and rust on a day with high humidity. Im not paying an extra $70-$120 for a difference of maybe 10 cuts and a significant increase in the probability of rusting. From now on, Ruike is my brand.

The problem I have with g-10/carbon fiber laminate is when a company tries to act like and charge like it's %100 carbon fiber. Like spyderco. It's like gold plated jewelry vs. %100 gold jewelry, can you tell the difference? Not really, but I don't want a gold plated chain and I especially don't want to pay for gold plated as if it were real gold.

Embedding the liners wouldn't necessarily make it thinner. Just making the scales and maybe liners too, thinner, would do it. Send it to me, I'll thin it up for you and send it back... And let me review it while in hand, I'll do it for free. Lmk.
