I suppose that kinda makes sense in a weird way.. since Drake always struck me as the kind of dude who would definitely try to "sweet talk the gay right out of you" (in that obnoxious tone where he thinks he's being _oh so smooth_ but he's really just making a fool of himself). FWIW, that sucks though :/ One advantage [I often overlook] regarding being a dude is that other dude's will [generally] listen to me when I tell them they're being stupid. If telling annoying guys to screw off made them try try to talk to me _even harder,_ and start asking dumb questions like "are you SURE you don't like men? Because I refuse to believe you aren't super into me, I am a perfect male specimen!"... idk what I'd do with myself. I'd go nuts, I think!

Mine was the version of E.T. by Katy Perry with the Kanye verses. I didn't realize it was a remix and thought I was forever doomed to hear that banger interrupted by such gems as "I'm tryna bathe my ape in your milky way" and "Tell me what's next, alien sex / Imma disrobe you and then imma probe you". You can only imagine my relief when I realized that it wasn't the original lmao

I'm gonna say it, I love the (original) lyrics to that song. I have a soft spot for songs that really lean into a theme, and I also love space/alien life as a theme, so it's definitely my favourite Katy song (out of the 3-4 that I like).

Infatuation with people u haven't spoken to is really common and I don't get why people always are like this about falling in love without getting to know the person or whatever, it literally happens all the time ppl are so attracted to someone they just get so invested in the mere idea of the relationship before it's even started. This is such a commonly shared human experience I think everyone can relate to it and I can't help but roll my eyes whenver some boomer adult scoffs at me for falling in love so quickly. The first question i get assked when i wass super upset about a girl rejecting me recently was "and how long have u known this girl?" LIKE IT EVEN MATTERS I LOVE HER I WANT TO MARRY HER LMAO stfu abt when i met her or how long we've known each other the fact of the matter is I have these feelings and I have to deal with it, trying to gaslight ppl into thinking their feelings are wrong cause it's too fast is so toxic love moves fast and hard and it can happen in the blink of an eye and just as quickly be gone

Like have u ever thought maybe the purpose of the song isn't to be nice and sweet despite it's sound? it's expressing a variety of complicated feelings about love and not expressing any interest in the person's actual answer only what the perspective of the song wants to hear it's saying "say you will" "today and everyday say you will marry me" those lines are such clingy romanticized toxic relationship type vibes if i ever heard it and i think that's the point. love isn't commonly this nice & sweet thing for people despite it's portrayal in society as this amazing perfect beautiful thing, in reality it's messy, illogical, and just really damn hard. love is not sweet or nice, love is a battlefield

the girl who rejected me did so because she is in love with another girl who she barely even knows anything about compared to me who she spends almost every waking moment talking to and wanting to hang out with meanwhile she doesn't know if her girlfriend works or not and there is so much distance they go months without seeing each other yet somehow they are in love. she cancels plans with her girlfriend to hang out with me instead and acts romantic with me all the time and she tease me plays with our boundaries holds my hand, leans on me, feeds me snacks while we watch movies, walks with me arm in arm, we are so intimate and physical and we made out.... she can't seem to go 5 minutes without calling me to check in.... but we aren't in love and she loves someone else she barely spends any time with.... makes total sense, right?

I 100% agree with this person about Girls Want Girls. I'm not LGBT, but I have told guys before that I'm a lesbian. Sometimes it's the only way to get them to leave you alone, and when you're met with stupid lines like that in response, it doesn't sit well to hear them in a Drake song. If a song wouldn't exist without a cringey line like that, then it doesn't deserve to exist in the first place 🤣

A decent song that gets totally ruined is ‘Anyone Else But You” by Moldy Peaches. It’s a sweet heartfelt song until the line “you shook a little turd out of the bottom of your pants”. Completely ruined for me personally. There’s no saving it after that.

Honestly the “Roses” segment here is one of Brad’s funniest bits I think I’ve ever come across on the channel and I’ve been doing my best to through as many videos as I can. “This the most racist comment I’ve ever seen, what’s wrong with some gang vocals?” Makes me audibly laugh every time no matter how hard I try and hold it in and no matter how awkward the situation.

"Roll the Bones" by Rush is one that I can't get over. The lyrics are fairly thoughtful, talking about the imbalances in the world and our fate and purpose in life, there's a really nice solo; AND THEN, there's a two verse 90's white boy rap that ends the line 'Get Busy!' God damn, the rest of the song is a good groovy, melodic well sung, then... that rap.

definitely got to be "1000 times goodbye" from Megadeth for me, really catchy song, one of the few good ones from their recent stuff, but then it ends on a minute long "phone call" with Mustaine and a cheating girlfriend that is pure cringe all along, and finishes on an amazing "you know what? YOU SUCK!". Really metal.

Sheer Heart Attack by Queen. Total banger until the end where they start playing ear piercing tones along with the guitar. Ends in a pretty rad guitar shred though so it kinda makes up for it. But you just cannot play it on a speaker without upsetting everyone in the room.

For me, it's The Song Has no Title by Elton John. The verse and the piano riff are so beautiful. Then, the chorus mix with the synth ruin the song completely off. It could be just a short song with two verses only. But, the worst part is the fucking synth.

Excellent choice ! I've always hated that part of it too. I kinda saw it as the other half of the song where he's making fun of all these deep, wise, contemplative ideas he includes in the verses. Elton's undermining himself In his own verses, by saying life is meaningless, therefore This Song has No Title, just Words and a Tune.

The #1 thing that comes to mind is Glass of Water by Coldplay. God that opening, that rift, those lyrics. It’s starts so so so so beautiful, I love it. Then it gets to that awful awful chorus that’s just a total mess. Coldplay just have a knack for writing some of the most non-melodic hooks to exist

I really like the verse and pre-chorus sections of the song Lost off Jordi by Maroon 5, although the repetitive lyrics and muted instrumentation of the chorus partly detract from the song (though I wouldn't say it ruins it). Also, One Light off the same album is good but Bantu's verse in it sounds terrible. And tbh a lot of Maroon 5's music is significantly ruined for me by Adam Levine's voice.

Dasani by Quadeca featuring Sebii and DC the don. Quadeca's production is amazing as always and so are his vocals. Sebii kills it, and then DC the don comes in with a verse that sounds like a 2010 sketch comic making fun of emo music.

Wait I wanted to mention one example “The Things We Do” by Foster the People. Most of the song is excellent and then they introduce some autotune. And at first it works well within the rest of the mix, but then for the last 30 seconds they strip it back to just the vocals and it’s horrendous.

I remember listening to Roses by the Chainsmokers on repeat for a while after it came out. When they released Something Just Like This, all I could hear was Coldplay with a MUCH worse Roses drop, which made me start disliking Roses as a song.

Die hard pre-hiatus FOB fan here. Pete's screaming sucks. The lyrics he screams are always nonsense. The songs he screams in, he ruins. I have no problem with screams in general, but FOB is not and has never been a screamo band, so the screams they do use feel forced and unnatural to the song's progression
