That scene when Byakuya threw his scarf at Renji and tells him: "Your fangs have certainly reached me". That completely changed my perspective about the guy. Byakuya often cane across as a stuck up douche but the guy it's a stand up character within the Gotei 13.

Ichigo losing his powers was probably the best thing to happen to Renji, he was doing great before Ichigo showed up, once he did Rukia’s been living in Ichigo’s closet, screaming Ichigo whenever she needs help or if something important popped up. Once he lost his powers Rukia was all Renji’s. I guess it was the best thing for Orihime as well since all of that bonding time got her out of the friend zone. It’s kind of funny that Rukia named her daughter the female version of Ichigo’s name though.

i still remembered back in fulbring arc my friends in group said renji is stronger than aizen then i laughed and they mad .. then after defeat superstar they resurface and said now kubo prove renji become the strongest shinigami and stronger than aizen... only later they be silenced by the fact renji terrified and scared of aizen chairsama unleash kido

I think the only way Renji becomes a captain is if Byakuya dies and the Kuchiki family isn't inherently tied to Squad 6. His ultimate goal is tied directly to Byakuya, so I think if Kubo had him become the captain of another squad, it'd be a betrayal of his character.
