I’d like to see how Rick analyses a financial statement.

It would be highly appreciated if Rick and you could go over the financials of say one good and one bad company. To show how Rick does his analytics and how he argues when looking at the numbers. 👍

Thank you, Rick. I appreciate your showcasing your mining sector picks. In addition, the differentiation of alpha and beta approaches has enabled me to articulate my two pronged approach. I am attempting both and have enjoyed a home run with my most speculative play, while having had neutral gains on value investing, while I await the sector to move. I continue to buy miners while they are out of favor. You helped me to understand the degree by which I am a contrarian. I even beat Eric Sprott into my most speculative investment, being Snowline Gold. I bought the people, as you instructed. I bought the diamond in the rough…. You have taught me so much. I want to buy Hot Chili, but am hoping and counting on a recession to tamp down copper prices, then I will buy on share price weakness. If it doesn’t materialize, I can sit tight while my picks in the sector rise with commodity prices. Gold, silver, uranium. Exciting times…

Quick question for Rick in this relation; Rick said in some of his interviews that he's of the view that top 5 biggest gold companies (Franco Nevada, Barrick, Wheaton, Royal gold and Newmont) would pretty much capture most of the beta in the upcoming gold bull market so the average investor is good to stick with those generally speaking - and will probably make 7-8x just by owning these. Question: Did he mean in nominal or real terms? P.S. Thanks a lot for all the work including this new series!! I'm 31 and had no clue about energy/resource investing but now following Rick's every interview.

What are royalties? What are warrants? What are private placements? Where do I find the various forms of financial statements put out by mines? Do mines have conference calls? Who owns the property a mine is on? Thanks for your videos.

It would also be appreciated if Rick could explain price/book value and net asset value for commodity companies. There are so many terms and sometimes even different terms for the same parameter. Reading the financials of a company many of us get confused over all the data and terms used.

@ 6:30 Rick said the resource sector was out of favor in 2016. If my memory serves me correct, 2016 was a great year! Perhaps Rick meant 2015. Not important I guess.. Anyhow, looking forward to this series.

The one commodity that RR does not seem to ever have touched is water. I have been taking a long hard look at that segment and will be looking for long-term value in well-funded companies with low debt levels there.

It might be a good time to talk about Russian stocks again. Russian issuers LUKOIL and GAZPROM say that conversion to Russian shares is only possible until the end of the year; and there are claims from issuers and many sources that the DRs will be attempted "sold" when the depository agreements end at the end of the year.
