Marcus on this long journey of my law degree now my 5th year, I look back and remember when I started my part time course and began watching your videos. You are truly a gifted person, which has the clear concise clarity to express the law in such a manner that resonates with us all. At my age of 50 and now even more so I’m finding it hard to register the long legal facts be it cases or legislation your videos have brought a more clearer picture to the whole matter. Equity this year and fingers cross next year my final year.. Please continue making videos and thank you Marcus..

Thank you for setting out these basic priciples of the rule of low, in regard to UK policy vis a vie EU policy combined with certain recent developments in the UK domestic policy. I am helping a fellow student on an essay regarding "Refugees, immigrants and the media", the definite title is not decided upon yet. As a Belgian citizen living in Brussels which is bilingual, yet myself coming from a Dutch-speaking population in North-Belgium (Flanders) which always had an independance movement, it is interesting for me to compare the UK model to the Belgium model. As you might be aware of, Belgium is one of the most complicated countries in the world. It's very hard to explain to students what the law really means and how it is being implicated and if it adheres to international standards which often conflict with one another. I found your video's to be very usefull as an addendum on the rearch I'm doing at the moment. It sure opens up some bigger questions. Because I'm finding it increasingly difficult to explain in comprehensible (as in understandable) manner the 'Rule of Law' to Dutch-speaking scolars living in Brussels. Your efforts are very appreciated which I would like to recognize. For the moment I will do this with a thumbs up, subscription (bell) and referencing your KZfaq-channel to whomever may be interested. Keep up the good work!

hello Marcus , what would happen if it is found out , that a defence attorneys client mr. Doe, for an insurance company policy was cancelled because he claimed for damages in an accident because the client Doe was liable for a personal injury claim. and the attorney is still representing the same client even though it has been 12 years since the policy was cancelled .. is the insurance company now liable for all the damages .. or did they loose the right to defend the client Doe '. because he has no more policy with them .???

I'm confused. HELP! So, Raz and Bingham both have eight principles or sub-rules. BUT therir both on opposite sides of the spectrum with their theories, HOWEVER, watching your vids on Raz and what my lecture notes say about Bingham, only shows me that their sub-rules are practically the same... :/

This is the same question for which i searched this topic on KZfaq and this video showed up, but in this video he didn't tell anything about binghams eight points on rule of law, and the 8 points of both raz and bingham are confusing me, which points are followed in Uk???

Depends what is written down on the written constitution but that is how things work to an extent in America.

sorry but what does retroactive means?😭I can't get any ideas after Googling it.
@hsaireh59166 жыл бұрын
I assume it means "beforehand" to put simply. I.e. non retroactive in this context would mean, an act committed before the law was introduced does not make that act criminal, since there was no law against it at the time... I think lol don't quote me :/

Which Law? We have 3 types of Law here in the uk. The common law, customs and statute law. The common law being the law of the land. I'm not trained in law but History is my passion and it seems very clear to me intelligent men like yourself are taught a polluted version of Law, Parliaments overall sovereignty and our constitution. No one is above the Law which is part of the rule of law, that is our birthright to all be equal so legislative law has to not go against this and must not cause any of us harm. Parliament have legislative sovereignty only. Parliamentary sovereignty is a theory and I can tell you it does not stand up to scrutiny or logic. We do have written constitutional documents. The legislation must be legal and the courts are responsible for that. The Law is our Birthright.

British Common and Constitutional Law is the Supreme Law of Britain for all time. Britain has much written constitution, please show me the parts that are not written.
@marcuscleaver7 жыл бұрын
+SovereignJoe 'Unwritten' is perhaps a strange legal concept that refers to there being no single written constitution (as there is in the U.S. or South Africa etc.) rather than nothing being written down at all. However there are parts that are genuinely not written down anywhere such as the Salisbury Convention.
