The concept and source material gave this movie so much potential to be unique and innovative, but the plot was so bland and predictable and pretty much relied on tired cliches and generic "empowerment" messages for the kids that made the hero and villain seem really stereotypical. A lot of things in the movie felt borrowed as well - I felt like I was watching Godzilla Vs Kong, Kung-Fu Panda, Reel Steel, Monsters Inc, Pokemon, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Turbo, and that Norse mythology-themed wrestling episode of 2017 DuckTales all mixed together
