Incredibly talented musicians (main melody at times recalling starsky & hutch theme to me)

Yeah i hear few notes 70s funk homage but that Starksky and Hutch theme sounds influenced by Herbie Hancock's Chameleon but normally Run for Cover not arranged like this it was a one time deal i havent heard it in this style since but its my favorite version of Run for Cover... its a got a funky big band swing to it..some new Orleans jazz remnants in daves solo too

This groove by Omar is really cool. And just as an aside: They started at 96 bpm and ended around 120 bpm...
