Major difference between other military branches and marines. Once you retire as marine you don’t say your a veteran, you say your a marine.

My son is at the PI right now, 6th week for them. When he told me he wanted to follow me and be a Marine, my heart dropped. I knew the pain he would go through and that hurt me as a father. I also knew he was done being my youngest son. He would graduate a Marine. Forever changed and I couldn’t be more proud. He wrote a few weeks in and said knowing I went through and was a Marine helps him every day to keep going. If I could do it, he could. I bawled like a friggin’ baby. No lie.

I have a heart condition and cannot join the marines. But I can pretend I'm marching with yall. Thank you for serving.

As a former Marine, after being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam, whenever I face hardships at 73 years old, and people ask me how I am doing, I reply, "I'm toughing it out, just as I was taught. When the going gets tough, the tough get going." I'm a warrior, period!

My husband was an active duty Marine 78-81. Left active service after three years as a Lance Corporal. He is now 61, still moves like he is on parade march... never lost that rhythm or marching stride. Two strokes and aging be damned he still marches like a Marine.

Had this cadence on cassette and ran to it every morning for 6 months before I went to Parris Island in 1983. I am 57 years old and I run 4 miles three days a week. I plan on running to this now that I’ve found it again. Semper Fidelis 🇺🇸

Takes me right back to parris island. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. If i had to do it all over again i would still join. Truly a life changing experience that i cherish. It opened so many opportunities after i got out. I now work for one of the biggest aviation companies making over 100k a year. Best part is i work with one of my best friends from the corps. If youre on the fence i would do it. It will be life changing.

Very fond memories of times in the USMC 1966 MCRD PLATOON 3350 NEXT TO CAMP PENDLETON THEN 29 Palms Followed by 19 months in Vietnam. Thank you to all of you who served. Now here's what I do: I educate people on how they may know they can have eternal life! People are like computers; we have a default mode. It is that we are all sinners, headed toward hell. GOD's Word declares, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God....Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. That if thou shalt call on his name in faith believing, thou shalt be saved. The best decision I ever made was to repent of MY sins and receive The Lord Jesus Christ as My Saviour.

Never made it to be a marine. Now 46 and regret it badly. Circumstances had changed in my life and never could have taken the opportunity. But son did and is now deployed as of 5/22/24 so proud of him that it runs chills. So to honor him and the corp, I run to this and train as hard as I can.

I remember almost all of it, PI 1968.

My Dad was in the Chosin Reservoir 1st marine division2nd amphibious TRK battalion 1947-1952 he was held 2 years COG Semper Fi Dad in heaven

Listening to these cadences makes think of the verses my dad used to sing for me when telling me stories of his days as a Devil Dog. Dad was a Vietnam Vet and he wasvfiercely proud of his time in the Corps. Dad always said there was no such thing as a former Marine and I believe him. He also said that Marines were guarding Heavens corridors. Dad went to take his post in 2017 and I can see him in those heavenly Dress Blues. I'm a proud Marine's daughter. I miss my dad and his tales of Parris Island. Our entire family is from SC and we love the Marines SEMPER FI MARINE CORPS!!!!

Our son just finished the crucible today, These cadence songs being me back to 1981 San Diego 3066. They're good, but we were fortunate to have a couple of phenomenal cadence masters that could keep us entertained through hours of runs and drills. I should build an archive site for them.

@lunzie thank you very much for sharing your husband's story. My father was in Vietnam as well and struggled raising me and my brother and sister due to his ptsd. One positive thing he did was raise us in the Roman Catholic Church to understand the importance of Jesus christ and his fatherly role. Our serviceman in this country give all just as Jesus did for the betterment of everyone else. I will remember your husband in my daily prayers along with every serviceman in this amazing country. Like toby Keith says so we can sleep in peace at night as we lay down our head. There is someone out there and I am so very grateful for all of you.

I grew up in the Marine corp.. Spent time on both sides of the cadence, it's alot harder then most people think. Alot cannot do it. Definitely makes a man out of you. Better for it and loved it. Listening makes me want to get up and run, but my knees won't let me.

Started running to cadences when my brother joined in 2013. Helped me feel closer to him in boot camp and through his deployments. Finished my first half marathon running to them last year. This video is superior to lots of other USMC cadences on KZfaq, so thanks for that! The only suggestion I have is to get rid of the ads. They’re new this week, and I strongly dislike them.

I went running listening to this with my earbuds ... I don't know how it happened, but I followed the cadence and somehow Left-Right-Lefted my way into the Recruitment Center. Very devious. GG USMC.
