I honestly never thought about events being setup by the DJ artist themselves, thats honestly pretty dam cool! Your last comment about life without passion is no life at all and how your passion can cause a ripple effect is 100% on point!!

damn man i hope you dont stop uploading ever. the passion is there and obvious, the advice is top notch, the perspective is from a place of experience, and honestly i think the most i take from these videos isn't just the technical or logistics but also the importance of people skills and how the whole club scene should be a symbiotic system where everyone's helping each other instead of eating each other alive like how the music industry is often portrayed

Played in clubs for years with set promoters that did the draw to bring the crowd. They did the promo I did the music with social media and promo to acquaintances. Now doing my first nite all on me in NYC “post-pandemic”

I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of years now. I went from hobby DJ to running my own events with other local DJs, and next year I’ve booked two big name DJs for which I’ll also be opening. You give great advice and your personality is amazing. Keep doing this so others can be inspired like I have!

I went to my first ever techno party back in january 2020 and im pretty much hooked wver since, i cant even put into words how much I love the music and the atmosphere a techno party can create thats why i decided if i cant explain i will play then. For about a year i practiced at home then had a couple house parties with close friends, fortunately they liked it and were/are very supportive about the idea of me bringing techno to the local scene then i had my first house party that wasnt just me and my friends which turned out to be a huge succes, i got countless amount of positive feedback from the people there and thats when i decided im ready to present myself and most importantly the music i fell in love so much with to the people where i live, i just dont know how well recieved its gonna be knowing what type of music and dj's make the clubs crowded around here which holds me back from approaching clubs because i absolutely have no clue how big or small of a crowd would be interested in it. Any advice for this kind of situation?

Love your vibe and story. It depends on your location, for Holland I can say that there are a lot of techno lovers and they take techno very seriously. There are more people than you think, here. You need more information for a good calculation ánd your intuition! Recently I was at a friend's techno set and it was surprisingly melodius just great, the techno genre makes a lot of difference to what appeals

@@dhrbakker8032 im based in hungary, in a relatively small city and from what i've gathered so far, people here like that sing-along type hungarian pop music which is way off of what i wanna do and also dont wanna turn into one of those dj's either cuz i believe you can do the best what you love the most. I just cant seem to find the audience for techno, not here at least. I tried to talk with a club owner recently but that club was originally made for concerts and all sorts of live entertainment but not electronic music. There were a couple dnb gigs during the summer but then they decided to go back to their roots and dont accept dj's for now. The guy told me to come back mid november to talk again because its not entirely out of question to bring techno to these folks, but it is for now. So now my best bet is to talk it out with him and get it started there also because personally i think that place would be the right place to so it first because of the regulars and the venue. It just seems to be the right choice but unfotunatelly the owner thinks otherwise, for now at least

@@catsarentviolent6039 That doesn't sound bad, me and people I know have been rejected harder, also later successful orginizator/Djs. So you have your goal! - start live streams and small parties now, do everything you can to map who your audience can be and be sure to stay true to yourself and persuade friends or find other techno DJs. There may be a collective somewhere. Everything you do now gives experience for a strong offer. I see it as jumping on a bridge together, if you jump often enough in the right rhythm you break the bridge.

Find somewhere small - perhaps even a mini basement style club. I remember I was in Paris once and we went to this little club and it would have fit 100 people max but the atmosphere was amazing. Find somewhere small with character, this way it's easy to fill.
@catsarentviolent6039
@catsarentviolent6039 2 жыл бұрын
@@ClubReadyDJSchool the place i mentioned before is exactly like that, that is the main reason i thought it would be the perfect choice. It can fit roughly 40-50 people. So it seems like im on the right track i should just wait to have a chat with the owner again. Right?

@@ClubReadyDJSchool cool 😁 I used to always believe just being a good DJ will prevail so over the years I focused on just technical skill. However, in todays age I realise self promotion is so important and is something I have never really done. (I was moderately successful with this approach btw playing residencies abroad for example). I'm in my 30's now and wondered if you could maybe elaborate on ways to promote/ Market myself without coming across as a cringe ball. Thanks dude, look forward to the video!

Great video. Absolutely quality content. I guess from the off its a lot about trust. A quick one in that regard, how would you know what the bar took in sales? Would it just be a case of 'look, I know I sold x amount of tickets, each person was bound to have spent at least x amount over the bar?
