Ang pag-aasawa ng maaga o "buya" ay bahagi ng kulturang Manobo. Ang pinakabatang ipinagkakasundo sa tribo, nasa dalawang taong gulang kaya marami sa kanila ang hindi na nakakapag-aral. Sagrado ito at ang pagtakas sa inayos na kasal maaaring mauwi sa tribal war.
Pero hindi lahat ng bata, sang-ayon sa buya. Sa kabila ng panganib na dulot ng pag-atras sa kasal, ang ilan tumakas at tinawid ang mahabang lakaran sa bundok sa ngalan ng edukasyon. Ang kuwento ng mga estudyanteng runaway bride at groom, panoorin sa video.

I WAS EMOTIONAL WHILE WATCHING THIS DOCUMENTARY. I FELT SORRY FOR THE YOUNG WOMEN WHO WERE FORCED TO GET MARRIED AND GET PREGNANT JUST BECAUSE THE MAN CAN PROVIDE FOOD, SHELTER AND PROTECTION TO THIS WOMEN. At that time nag shooting sila nyan andon yung anak ko nag bakasyon, kaya nakakaawa daw talaga mga kabataan doon. SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST po ang relihiyon namin yan po ang nag tatag ng sulads, kapatid ko ay nag sulads din dati nakapag turo din sila dyan ng ilang taon. Salamat at marami na din ang naka feature sa kanila.

as an atheist person. mas nakaka dismaya ang ganitong klase ng relihiyon at paniniwala. mula papag kabata nila. ginagamit na sila pang kasangkapan para sa kapakanan ng kanilang paniniwala. walang pinagkaiba sa christians and Christianity at ng mga kultong paniniwala.

@@irishcalumpang8722 i still don't believe in that kind of culture and tradition. childrens and teenager should be in school specially they should send to urban and learn new things from a secular world. they deserve to know what truth is in this world. they deserve to studied in public or private school. specially in college. karamihan sa ituturo ng mga kolehiyo natin specially the state university ay about science and technology . specially secularism ay kasama na . kasi about philosophy ang subjects lalo pa kung dun sila tutungtong ng college. dun nila malalaman kung ano talaga ang ginagawang mali sa kanila ng kinalakihan nilang paniniwala na kanilang tinakasan .a child marriage? alay para sa kanilang sariling paniniwala na nakapipinsala sa karapatang pang bata katulad ng nasa video? di nila dapat nararanasan yan. kung ako ang mag tatayo ng atheist community sa lugar malapit sa kanila. mas ma e educate sila ng malaya.

punta ka sa mvc mam.. mountain view college, valencia from bagontaas to lilingaayon at kontakin mo ang sulads dhil cla ang nag ooperate sa skol na yan! i am proud to say that i am one of the pioneer of this sulads organization! wla pa yan sulad highskol kmi ang naglinis nyan back 2000.. ang sarap ng pkramdam ng mkatulong sa kPwa pilipino! 1 yr akng nagturo sa bundok ng agusan ms malau pa ung nilalakad nmin na almos 20 hrs.. pro sulit dhil ang ganda ng kalikasan!

Thank You... Seventh Day Adventist Church... such a wonderful program SULADS (Socio-economic Uplift, Literacy, Anthropological, and Developmental Services)... MVC Mountain View College and Seventh Day Adventist South Philippines Union Conderence. Isa Kapatid ko sa mga SEVENTHDAY ADVENTIST 1000 Missionary Teacher na nag turo sa bukidnon pero sa ibang remote na lugar hindi ko lang alam ang batch nya she promised and Serve the Lord After Graduated Cum Laude and Passing the LET exam. Very happy and fulfilling at napaka ganda ang mag Serve sa Panginoon sa pamamagitan ng pag tulong at pag turo sa mga nagangailangan ng ganitong kaalaman and sabi nga sya napakaraming estudyante na ngangailangan atensyon sa mga lugar na malalayo sa mabundok sa Bukidnon , To God Be the Glory Nag Plan din sya na mag SULADS missionary pero sadly hindi natuloy for some reasons ..

Though I am not part of this tribe, I could relate to them, in a way that my dad wanted me to stop studying after 6th grade and not support me to finish high school and college. He wanted me to get married. Now, I understand why he said that. For the reason that we were poor, and Dad couldn't afford to provide for the family. If I had my own family, it would be less burden to my Dad and Mom. But good thing that my Mom was very supportive of the idea to finish education for a better future. Thank God for my Mom's determination and faith in me. I was able to finish college and became a teacher ❤️ Praise God! I'm from the Philippines 🇵🇭, and the early marriages/fixed marriages still exist until today, not only in the mountain area, it's all over the Philippines. I live in one of the city of Metro Manila and my Dad had that thought of early marriage when I was young. Probably, because he grew up with that kind of lifestyle. Though he got married in his late 20's, he had the idea that women should only stay at home and doesn't need education to become a housewife.

Such a beautiful and Inspiring documentary! Salute to all the teachers who choose public service and sacrifice to teach in hard to reach places. You are all an inspiration! The present Government should intervene and see this as a problem. Child/early marriage is a violation of child protection and human rights. These girls are more at risk of physical and sexual violence. And are more prone to having complications in their reproductive health. I hope and pray that more help reach them.

Kaya mga kabataan, pagbutihin ang pag aaral, dahil ang swerte nyo pa rin na hindi kayo pinanganak na ganito na nasa tribo at pinapakasal ng maaga. Mag aral kayo hangga't kaya ng magulang nyo na pag aralin kayo. Dahil yan ang manang hinding hindi mawawala sa inyo kapag dating ng panahon. Huwag munang mag aasawa at isipin ang sariling kapakanan. Ang pag aasawa palaging may pagkakataon para diyan.

Napakagandand dokyomentaryo.Mamulat sana ang pamahalaan na may mga kababayan tayong nangangailangan nang tulong.Hindi lang ito nagbibigay aral at inspirasyon ,dito makikita natin ang natatagong kayamanan at ganda ng ating kabundukan.Mabuhay ang mga katutubo

Saludo po ako kay sir Solomon, pinilit niya makapagtapos upang maibahagi ang karunungan sa kanyang mga kapwa Lumad. Hindi mahalaga sa kanya ang halaga ng perang kikitain sa pagtuturo kundi ang kahalagahan na makatulong sa kanyang tribu, walang pagka-makasarili. Sana lang mapagtuunan ng pansin ng ating gobyerno na mapangalagaan ang lahat ng ating mga katutubo na nagnanais na makapagtapos ng pag aaral, sana mabigyan din sila ng patas na oportunidad kagaya ng mga nasa kabihasnan. Sadyang mayaman ang ating kultura, sana magpatuloy itong ma-preserved.

I AM VERY PROUD TO SAY THAT I WAS ONCE A PIONEER OF THIS SULADS ORGANIZATION! masarap mkatulong sa gnitong mga klaseng tao! at ang ganda ng kalikasan habang naglalakad kmi papuntang mission school na almost 20 hrs.. sarap ng feeling kapag mktulong ka.. wla pa yan sulad high skol sa sto domingo.. kmi ang naglilinis nyan.. sobrang lamig at umuulan pa nuon habang kmi ay naglilinis! natulog kmi sa lupa na umuulan at trapal lmg ang gamit nmn na silongan.. pra kming mga sisiw na natutulog! hahaha.. godbless sulads!

At first I never wanted to be a teacher, but this kind of documentary inspires me to pursue my teaching profession, As a future teacher, I want to be their instrument not just to learned but to inspire to achieve their goals and dreams. Mabuti nmn marami ng katutubo na kabataan na tumatakas para lang makapag tapos ng pag-aaral at nabubuksan na ang isip ng ibang katutubo na magkaroon ng freedom ang anak nila. Sana mas matulungan pa sila lalo na ng goverment natin. Thank you gma ang ganda ng kwento😘

Wonderful and informative documentary. I visited Sil-angon and other neighboring villages in the Lapangon Range way back 2004. I am hoping that they will have better access to formal education! Thanks to SULADS!

Nakakaiyak and nakakainspire. Ung marinig mo silang makakanta in english, ang laking ng pinagbago nila thru education. Iba talaga sa liblib na lugar. Salamat sa mga volunteers na matyagang nagtitiis makapagturo lang. It is also a very nice thing that this documentary is hosted by a woman to show the young female children and the parents/community leaders how it is if women are educated.

This is beyond sad... this girls deserve better,they deserve a good education,they deserve to make a decision about their future🥺 cycle of poverty within their community will not stop unless they start thinking of what's better for their children. I understand this is their culture, but this day and age we cannot live just by knowing how to catch food in the forest, we need to learn to adopt in the society without giving up our culture.

As a Seventh Day Adventist I know a person that is part of SULADS, the experience he got being in the SULADS is totally life changing for him. Every day was a challenge for him. I hope this video will help support SULADS since this video is just the tip there are a lot of places in which due to the location SULADS has to use helicopter for transportation. And most of the people participating in SULADS are volunteers. Thats why I hope people will see this.

Isa din akong tribo na mixed in 4blood,,at alam ko talaga na education Ang Daan para ma iducate cila I remember my past b4 that may parents transfer in another town,,it's hard to survive that u stay alone in that place without parents or relatives that can help you,,but we survive without Thier help,,until I finish my secondary school,,if I saw a documentary like this I can cry 😭😭 cause I know what they are feelings,,an how they are become hopeless,,that's the reason why they get married in early,,they are lack of education,,an also they don't know how to fix Thier lives,, that's what the reason more tribes are become members of rebels group,,,but thankfully this time they wake up slowly an welling to see the future of their own,,thank you for this documentary,, watching from Oman muscat,,,maupiya na mahapon ka niyo langon te menge suled ko ne menovo,,,my prayers are all of us

God, its a pity to just leave them there. They are all pretty, beautful and charming that are full of hopes and aspirations. They all seems to abide by all rules just not to get married and one of this is to finish schooling. Congratulations for this documentary, to the teacher, to all the girls who just poured their hearts out relaying their sentiments. It's not easy putting up a place for runaway very young brides. I hope donations will pour in. These people have reasons on why running for being brides, escaping not just for the heck of it but because they know its not right, not right to just succumb to the whims of a man they do not really know. I dont just admire these people, those men and women getting out or running away or being far from their real families, but all the more admired them for being firm on their quest abd beliefs to have a valuable life that being married early is not the reason for living a happy and contented life. Its being at peace in your community, with someone you love and within yourself. If you will donate, let solomon and all the people in the house were the runaway brides are housed know the amount.

Kudos, GMA Team sa pagpapakita po ng realidad na ito. Sana po ay makaabot sa departamento ng edukasyon ang mga pangangailangan po ng mga bata. Napaka eagaer nila mag aral. Sana po matulungan sila. Teacher po ako dito sa bayan namin at nasa sentro kami. Masasabi ko na napakaswerte ng mga bata dito sa amin dahil nakapag-aaral sila ng maayos. Sana po makarating ito sa taas.

Hope congress could pass a law stating that for all Teachers, volunteers, and a like who are working specially in a very hard to reach place must get high salary grade. Nakapanlulumo, kahabag-habag na sitwasyon para sa mga kababaihan. Mahirap talikdan ang kulturang kinagisnan ngunit mas mahirap ilagay ang sarili sa sitwasyon nang maagang pag-aasawa. Nakatutuwang isipin na pinaglalaban nila ang edukasyon sa tulong Ng mga butihing edukado. Sa ngalan ng karunungan at sa pagsibol Ng bukang-liwayway, umaasa akong Sila ang magsisilbing imahe at repleksiyon ng mga kababaihang may pangarap at Paninindigan.
