ESSENTIAL is absolutely right. All classes will have multiple sets for different rune synergies depending on the situation. If I can make a suggestion for your next video - would be awesome to see this in action perhaps through some duels or world pvp. Thanks for another insightful video!

But how does one use the rune slot in a macro so you can just use to same button for example pants? I have Prayer of Mending and Homonculi that I swap between, if I drag them to my bar it does swap when I change runes but casting from a macro uses /use Prayer of Mending or /use Homonculi which doesn't work.

Sounds fun and everything till we get to the point where if you don't do it you are in segnificant disadvantage because it's so good.

What if you want to swap between the exact same item? Example the epic craft gloves. I tried the eqslot 10 macro with item id + enchanment id in it (works with enchants on multiple shadowfangs for example). But it seems like the rune doesnt work the same way as the enchant id.

I suspect this is more effective now because we don't have enough talent points to go very deep in any tree. At higher levels if your mage is heavily invested in the frost tree it might not be effective to swap to fire or arcane runes.

I know its a long shot, but I have 2 of the same level 25 chest that i have 2 different runes attached, but when I use either macro, it swaps to other chest, so if I spam one macro as its on cooldown, im actually swapping to the other chest and it all gets mixed up, I dont know if Iv explained it right, but yeah, one of the chest pieces has +16 armor so i wondered if I can differentiate the two items with a different itemid? as one must be different to the other. Any help would be appreciated.

ive been playing burnout, living flame and bomb and ive been out dpsing lvl 25s, fire is the way to go imo

I'm going this now to a lesser extent with my leg rune and I hope it goes away fast, it seems unhealthy for the game and adds needless complexity.

If you’re a shaman you can tag someone with Spirit of the Alpha and get Loyal Beta 20% AP bonus buff. Friendly NPC or Player. Nice for Enhance shamans who don’t care about threat and want a damage bump.

While this seems really good for people with multiple pieces of gear, i'm hoping someone figures out a method for a macro to mimic the action of slotting a rune in the character page, as opposed to just switching pieces of gear

I thought mage healing spells gave you a pretty long debuff that reduced your damage by like 50%?

Blizzard will be adding cooldowns to swapped runes. Mark my words. Trinkets have cooldowns, why wouldnt these.

runes are literally game breaking without having a cooldown. IMO there should be a cooldown of some sort. IE 30 seconds or a minute out of combat.

I hope they fix this with by setting runes to the slot rather than the items themselves. If not the retail min/max playstyle will kill off the casual player base and servers die out from the min maxers steamrolling regular players.

I think this is great and have been hungry for incentives to keybind more. A lot of commenters here are misidentifying min-maxing with sufficient keybinding. Keybinding Weapon swap macros is something that good players have keybound for a long time. Now that need is extended to armor. I have always been a proponent of rising to the challenge & becoming a better player. Not expecting the game to be dumbed down to meet your incompetence. Motivate & apply yourself instead of making excuses of 'can't' or 'too hard'. You *can decide to succeed *if sufficiently self-motivated.

Fire Bomb Gloves? Don't you mean Living Bomb? If it's literally just "Equip different gloves between pulls", that's childsplay.

This is terrible. I told people they are going to be fighting for multiple sets of the same gear. I knew this was going to happen.

If you look up the term "Sweaty tryhard" you will find this video. This is the stuff that's wrecking the game. It's balanced around stuff that's intended. It's clear that runes are mean to be a relatively permanent choice where you choose between one or the other, otherwise we'd just have access to all of them at the same time. Macroing gear swaps to squeeze a tiny bit more performance out of things was clearly never the intent. Except now that's going to become the new meta. Everyone will be expected to do this by the rest of the playerbase and the game gets more ridiculous. Guys, this is not a hard game. It's 20 years old. It's solved. There's no honor in finding exploits and breaking it more. Having the highest DPS is not going to make up for your crappy marriage and lack of job satisfaction.
