Runner encounters terrifying ‘nightmarcher’ demon during 100-mile race in Hawaii rainforest

A Hawaiian runner said she was left with literal “goosebumps” after unknowingly encountering an alleged “nightmarcher” demon during a grueling 100-mile race in Oahu, Hawaii, as seen in a spine-tingling video.
“To this day, we still don’t know what it was,” Kay Borleis wrote in a blog post detailing the alleged shadowy entity.
An avid runner since age 14, the art director and designer specializes in ultramarathons, defined as any run longer than 26.2 miles.
This particular incident allegedly occurred in January 2019, while Borleis was competing in the HURT 100 mile race, a grueling 20-mile loop through Oahu’s Honolulu Mauka trails that participants run five times.

I am a Hawaiian and I respectfully disagree, the night marchers are Hawaiian warriors from ancient time and if state directly to it you will be marked for death, (this might sound weird) the only chance of survival is to take off all of your clothes and lay down in the middle of any road, night marchers are typically human like ghost entities by they demand respect Yessah blessah.

1) Night marchers are not demons 2) it's a live photo not a video (it only picks up a few frames before and after the still 3) it's clearly daytime in the photo so why would a night marcher be out there at that time? 4) the trail was supposed to be closed off that day so it's definitely someone who wasn't supposed to be there. Don't know if it was a ghost or not but the image paired with the legend is haunting.

Night marchers don’t only appear at night lol. That’s just what they’re called due to you being able to see the torch flames floating across the mountains at night. But there’s many accounts of night marchers in broad day in Hawaii

I took a lovely little lava rock from near Kilauea which I have had with me ever since. Nothing bad has ever happened to me. So what if you heard drums? Did you ever think it might be just people actually playing drums just to mess with everyone and perpetuate some superstitious myth? There are burial places near every place of human habitation with no report of this sort of thing. Do you think Hawaiians have special supernatural powers other people do not? There is no such thing as ghosts and they certainly don't walk around playing drums and attacking people that look at them. Aloha! 😎

No idea what this is but it's not a night marcher! There is no lone nightmarcher marching around. when they’re roaming around, it’s more like a formal procession of spectral Hawaiian warriors, hence the marching. Common traits of nightmarcher encounters cite drums and torches and kahili (feathered scepter like things) as part of the show. continuing the whole thing about literal marching, they’re not gonna be shambling around like zombie movie extras. that guy is wearing a shirt. Ancient Hawaiians didn’t wear those until post-colonial contact.

I am christian, but this is where I gotta stop you in your tracks. nightmarchers aren't demons, and this is where many locals are getting mad at this news report. nightmarchers are guardians of the chiefs from when they are living, and through when they have died. the warn the commoners of the coming of chiefs. you will know when you come across a nightmarcher, and that is for sure. first you will feel hot winds blow past you which is soon followed by the smell of dead flesh and drumming. after the drumming comes the sounding of the conch shell and chanting. by this time, you are to be out of the spirit of the chief and warriors way as sign of respect. all these warnings are to prepare you. if you don't react to them, your gonna have serious goosebumps. direct eye contact is said to mean death. being in the way often leaves pressure on your chest as if you are being slightly choked. hawaiian chiefs and warriors when they were alive demanded respect from all. to check on their villages at night was mercy
