That is absolutely heartbreaking. This is like running an personal record pace 800, and then being told 3 days later that you cut in a second too early and got dq'd

Interesting video. I remember in 2015 when Bromell and De Grasse tied for 3rd in the 100 and shared the bronze medal

When I swam any tied swimmers would do a swim off and swim the same things again with only the tied swimmers racing. It was always a great experience, and nearly every time the one on one competition would lead to a significant time drop for both sides.

So, in high school, I had a team mate (a hurdler), that would always put in just enough effort to advance to the next round and he ended up being tied for the last spot in the finals in BOTH the 110 and the 300.. he had to do a run off for both events with the guys he was tied with and since that was the case.. he put in just enough effort to win those run offs (this was at the district championships as well..). Well, he gets to the finals for both events and since he didn’t have to hold back anymore.. he let it rip and won both events by a considerable margin. Oh boy, the coaches of the other guys he beat were PISSED and they wanted him immediately tested for PED’s lol. He was definitely clean.. just a bit of a joker lol. It’s a shame he never took athletics seriously because he was one of the most gifted athletes I have ever met. He unfortunately just missed out on qualifying to state in both events at regionals by 1 spot in each event.

I think it was bad blood at first tho...may not be now and closer years following but the conversations within the 2, u could tell they were annoyed. Alyson was like I'm not giving up a spot I've earned and Tarmoh was like I won, I celebrated, let me have it.....ultimately it was a TIE and they never should've told Tarmoh she won 3rd...period

Duncan was one of the greatest college runners ever. Too bad her pro career didn’t go so well I really rooted for her.

I blame her, do the run off. Then she didn't run the actual race at the Olympics, but received a medal. Definition of a participation trophy 🏆. Pick the best looking one.

@Timmyjl2511 ай бұрын
Majority of yall in the comments never played sports or been in a competition 😂😂. Who the hell just gives someone the spot in a tie/dead heat. If its a tie you competition until a winner is crowned. I doubt you guys play games and end up in a tie and say "you can have" .

@vince0dodo11 ай бұрын
@@longbranch11207It's not about "medaling" in an event at the Olympics. Both Tarmoh and Felix worked really hard for years. They fought to get on the team in the 100m. Felix wasn't just gonna give her spot to Tarmoh because she "feels bad". Anyways they both went to the Olympics and won gold in the 4x100m (Tarmoh ran 2nd leg in heats and was replaced by Felix for the final)
