I’m a Solo technician, and operator of a HVAC business that will be rebranding within the next couple weeks. This is just my start of a journey that I’m excited to bring to yall along with me, and go through the ups and downs, and the trials and tribulations, and the high times as well. Tell the HOA to SHOVE IT! I had my company write a letter to my HOA saying we are a 24/7 full service company and that I need to have my van available to me at all times. They backed off once they received a formal letter with my company's logos and signatures. Mine fits in my driveway and doesnt block any sidewalks or traffic.

@@thomaskaraindros28I have been on an HOA board before. The issue is not only whether it blocks anything or is in the way. It's also the physical looks and character to the neighborhood. You want everything to look sleek and residential. If you allow one vehicle with a wrap, or a large ugly diesel truck that fits fully in the driveway, you must allow anyone to do it. Once you have 50 or 60 throughout the subdivision, it looks like shit. I know lots of HOAs make petty and stupid rules, but this ain't one of them.

@realSamAndrew it's pretty dumb and you won't convince me otherwise. We're all hard working men just because we bring our trucks home doesn't make anything look ugly. My work van is a black transit just like he has in the video with some lettering on it. I have a lot of expensive tools in there. There's no rust on it. It looks professional. And who said diesel trucks are ugly? Have you seen what the modern ones look like? You're insane. All this crap about a beautiful truck with some lettering on it meanwhile Joe across the street drives a 1999 GMC Yukon with half the body coming off from rusting but no one says anything to him. It makes no sense and that's why you won't convince me otherwise.

I work in the Orlando area as well and we just started using service titan last month, I love the fact you can document pics and videos. Hopefully I'll run into you on I-4 or 417 some day once you get the van wrapped. Keep the videos coming.

Glad to hear you’re going to be getting some equity into the company. I feel like paying techs and installers on some sort of performance pay that is monitored will be key for future businesses. Paying employees by the hour is a thing of the past. BTW what do you like and dislike about service titan?

Exactly!! We were actually just talking about that, and I was talking with some of my buddies on that as well and what their p4p is! Love service titan, the interface is great, the tools are fantastic (IF used properly) the downside is really not utilizing it to its full capacity

Be careful brother. Do not agree to a non compete clause no matter what. Trust me when I say running the business by yourself is nowhere near as hard as you think it is. I was exactly like you dude. Everywhere I worked I worked like I owned the business, and I was looking at the big picture and down the road. because I worked like that all those customers that used me were thrilled to come to my company when I started. Trust me when I say the money is insane and it’s going to be very difficult for you to get a big cut of it without having the sole ownership. Whenever you were the owner and all the monies coming to you and you’re willing to reinvest into the company it becomes very easy. But if you have even one other person that is entitled to a share of the profits and they’re interested in buying a Ford platinum truck and the lake house you’re going to be stuck where you’re at and it’s going to be impossible to grow any bigger. You’re gonna have to have like 10 trucks on the road before you can both have a lake house and the bad ass truck. I technically make $65-$80,000 a month but I don’t because I put it all back into the company and keep buying more vans and more tools and more equipment. I keep hiring new guys and taking all the money I make and reinvest, and that money keeps getting larger and larger every month. I wouldn’t be able to do that in a partnership. I grew to be an over $3 million a year revenue company. I’m not being a hater here, man I think you have the exact mindset that I had and could make yourself very very wealthy.

My man!! I agree with you 💯 and I was at a company EXACTLY how you described the platy and a lake house lmfao!! But that’s what honestly we have done so far this year with the rebrand, and marketing is really took most of what the profits were and threw it into marketing and adding another truck and technician. Now we ain’t no where near your numbers but that’s fuggin sick dude!! And the hopes are to be there!! Last year I was the sole tech/sales/repair/maintenance etc and was 500k rev, with those same number we had last year and looking at the metrics we shooooould hit a mili based off of just me so I hope our other tech can definitely help surpass that goal!! By watching a lot of your videos man you reallllyyy have your shit together opposed to 99% of the cats out there man, you have the patience and will power to live in your means build your badass company and dominate!! But definitely do appreciate the kind words dude, would love to chop it up more with you, we are 99% residential and that’s what we are trying to target but c would also love to expand it.

@@KoolinwithKrauss that’s badass what y’all have done already and sounds really really sustainable. You have the secret sauce though. Wherever you go gold will follow. Y’all sound like you have a pretty sweet operation going though. Residential is awesome and has really really high profit margins. Commercials pretty sick too. If you get good at selling those maintenance contracts, you make so much goddamn money. In the process of doing a good thorough maintenance you find so many contractors and capacitors and motors that need to be replaced usually way more than double or triple maintenance agreement annually in repair work And then a huge property will want to change out 7 RTUs and you make a cool $45,000 gross margin on a Saturday. Where are you guys?

Quick question, my AC is on Cool with desired temp of 73F and it has reached the temp. Should my AC be kicking on for 3-5 minutes every 10 minutes? I was always told when AC compressor kicks on it should have a 10-15 minute cycle… thought?

In central Florida definitely 90% heat pumps. A few gas furnaces, and some straight cools.
