I find it interesting how Rika is running up a hill and Satoko is running straight line. I wonder what could imply.

i imagine its symbolic of the difference between certainty and micacles maybe? satoko is running in a straight line because her goal is to win with absolute certainty, while rika is running up a hill because she is hoping for a miracle

0:13 I LOVE how this ties in - Rika reaches out and catches Satoko as she is falling. Brilliant detail if the animators did it as purposeful foreshadowing It makes a lot of sense now, in S1, Rika wasn't running away, she was running TOWARDS the shrine. And when the door opens, she sees Satoko's hands reaching for her. Rika was running up the hill to save Satoko in time.

If you look into the pond, you can see how Satoko's shadow turns into a child. Also an interesting detail
