IMO running older bots actually forces you to think more about which engagements you should fight. Older robots lack the strength and speed that the newer bots have, so you'd need to play them safer. It forces you to think about spacing and the different weapon ranges (e.g. constantly staying out of range of enemy teslas), baiting out enemy abilities and then capitalising on it etc. Whereas with newer bots and especially with them maxed like what you have, usually you have the upper hand in most engagements since firstly, most players don't have very high levelled equipment, and secondly newer bots are also much more forgiving to play, with shorter ability cooldowns, multiple ability charges, and are much more speedy. TLDR IMO running older or weaker equipment forces you to think more about how you approach enemies.

It's interesting because a lot of people do run stuff maxed, but since I started looking around after every game I've noticed it's not as many as I assumed

I will say I think I much prefer having two hangars, one meta and one older, vs. what I used to do which was throw an older bot into a meta lineup. I mean, that's fine still, I'm not saying that's BAD exactly, but if you know you have four meta robots after your trebuchet fury, you still play it pretty loose, you know? Vs. if your whole hangar is from the Island of Broken Toys, you better squeeze very ounce of combat out of that Fury because there's a Carnage behind it

I’ve been using the shocktrain on my pathfinder and I really don’t like them unless I at least have a duo partner. I just get rushed by an ocho and get smooshed. I’ll stick to UE punishers or the vamp weapons.
